Storyline
Announcement
Seska and Culluh inform Janeway that there is a traitor in her midst and suggest they would be willing to help out the individual, for a small price. [1]
Prologue
- Concerning Flight Janeway: "We have the luxury of being here, in the future, and the knowledge of past and present all at once. At some point, though, we will likely be returned. But perhaps we can give ourselves an edge."
- Judge Q: "Come now, Kathryn, you don't think that your adversaries might be employing the same strategies? The cogs of time move for those who wish you harm just as they move for you."
- Concerning Flight Janeway: "We're well-aware that we are far from the only ones taking advantage of the temporal anomaly crisis, Q. But I have a crew condemned to anywhere from 7 to 74 years in the Delta Quadrant. I'll risk whatever I have to for their sakes."
- Chief Engineer Torres: "Of course Q shows up and things go to hell. There's been an explosion along one of the plasma conduits. We contained it before it spread, but we need to investigate before we do any more work on Voyager."
Intermission
- Concerning Flight Janeway: "Thank you for your assistance, Captain. Repairs went much faster and smoother with you and your crew on the task. Though our ship is back in flying shape, it seems we're no closer to determining a possible cause...or culprit."
- Seska and Culluh: "Maybe that's because you're too foolish to turn your investigation toward your own crew- Or is it too naive? Either way, the snake is in your own garden and perhaps you should deal with Lon Suder before he gets you and your crew killed."
- Lon Suder: "Me? I haven't done a thing! I'm in confinement awaiting my hearing. I would never!"
- Choice A
- Captain: "That's a bold accusation."
- Seska and Culluh: "Not one without merit. Suder has killed in rage before, has he not? Why would anyone be foolish enough to believe he wouldn't strike again? Sometimes, Captain, the usual suspects are the best suspects."
- Choice B
- Captain: "What proof do you have?"
- Seeka and Culluh: "He was confined to quarters awaiting trial, was he not? Check your logs. l have a feeling you'll find he broke those orders on several occasions. Perhaps even at the time of the explosion?"
- Choice C
- Captain: "Really? Of anyone to make that accusation, why should we trust you?"
- Seska and Culluh: "You shouldn't, really. Except for the fact that, unlike the traitors in your midst, you know where my alliances are and what I'm after. Can you really say the same of Suder...and the rest of the crew?"
- Seeka and Culluh "Deal with him or don't, the choice is yours. But I'd hate to see what happens to Voyager's crew after another of his little 'accidents'."
Epilogue
- Michael Jonas: "That was good work, Captain. I'm not convinced Suder didn't do it, but perhaps it was...just an accident?"
