Storyline
Announcement
The Latinum Lot ride again! This time, it’s a dangerous caper that will take them into Klingon Empire territory. That’s why they’re in the market for a sucker—er, a distinguished Captain to make the ultimate score! [1]
Prologue
- Bartender Quark: "—-and that's how I singlehandedly saved the galaxy last Convergence Day, I'm surprised you didn't hear about-oh, hello Captain, glad you could join us. We were looking fora sucke—I mean, a Starfleet officer who could lend us a hand. There's a 10% cut in it for you."
- Gaila: "I'm still not sure about bringing Starfleet here along, but Quark says you have an in with the Klingons. We'll need all the help we can get heading into the heart of Klingon territory, even if it will benefit them as well."
- Leck: "Quark says he's been hired to hunt down missing Klingon artifacts, though he won't say by whom, and he swears he saw the Sword of Kahless aboard the freighter of a certain Klingon merchant. But that freighter's deep in Empire space right now."
- Safecracker Nog: "That's why we were hoping you could help us, Captain. This Klingon's no normal merchant. He deals in things even the most fearless Ferengi would never dare, to say nothing of the fact the Empire may not be too happy to see us. Think you can help us commit this caper?"
Intermission
- Leck: "That escape was absolute amateur nonsense. Well, you were all right, Starfleet, but I expect no less from a soldier. The rest of you though? Brunt, were you trying to trip every security system?"
- Brunt, F.C.A.: "We made it out, didn't we? Though something tells me we've been had. Is this really the Sword of Kahless? It looks like a piece of rusted junk to me. I bet it'd fall apart the first time you hit anything with it. C'mere Quark, let's try it out."
- Bartender Quark: "Easy with that! You break it and there's no way the Klingon's'll buy it back from us."
- Choice A
- Captain: "Buy it back? This wasn't a recovery mission?"
- Bartender Quark: "Of course it was. But, come on, Captain Goody-Two-Lobes, you can't ask us to put our lives and latinum at risk with no reward, can you?"
- Choice B
- Captain: "Wait, I thought someone hired you for this mission?"
- Gaila: "Captain, come on now, you can't fault us for trying to double our take, can you?"
- Choice C
- Captain: "Break that Sword and no amount of latinum can save you from the Empire's wrath."
- Brother Rom: "The Captain's right. I don't even know how to fight with one of those!"
- Bartender Quark: "Well, anyway, some of these items are damaged. We better make sure they're the real deal and repair what we can before we take them back. Help us out Captain and I'll bump your cut up to a generous 5%."
Epilogue
- Grilka: "I'm impressed. I feared that Quark might back out in the face of something so dangerous, but he saw this through. And you, Starfleet? Your efforts were honorable as well. Thank you."
