Storyline
Announcement
The Sword of Kahless has been located and taken. The Empire is out for blood! In desperation, Sahil turns to you and your crew to find and recover the Sword, as well as to prevent any further conflicts. [1]
Prologue
- Lieutenant Sahil: "Captain, thank you for answering my hail! I'm afraid we have a crisis on our hands. The Sword of Kahless, once thought lost, has been located. However, the same veiled communication boasting they found it also says they're taking it."
- K'mpec: "It is an absolute disgrace! The Sword of Kahless is a holy artifact. To think some weakling is out there brandishing it as if they have any idea of its true value!"
- Vedek Bareil Antos: "Captain, as you can see, this is going to require some delicacy. We're counting on you to find out what happened as quickly and as quietly as you can."
Intermission
- Vedek Bareil Antos: "Captain, thank you for all of your hard work so far. The care you've taken in searching for the Sword of Kahless is greatly appreciated."
- Su'kal: "But there are many bat'leths out there, right? Is this 'Sword' truly so valuable?"
- K'mpec: "Clearly you know nothing of the Sword or its legends. Plucked from the head of Kahless himself and forged in the lava of Kri'Stak, it certainly has more value than some Kelpian upstart!"
- Choice A:
- Captain: "The Sword is an important symbol that might unite the Klingon Empire."
- Su'kal: "A Sword with the power to unite an Empire? It sounds almost miraculous. And certainly counterintuitive to what a sword would normally do. How fascinating."
- Choice B:
- Captain: "The mythology around the Sword is more important than the item itself."
- Vedek Bareil Antos: "An interesting thought, though I don't necessarily agree. Some artifacts may be mere symbols, but having that tangible connection to one's heritage can be affirming in a way few other things can be."
- Choice C:
- Captain: "The Sword is merely a bat'leth built up over centuries."
- K'mpec: "And you're merely a Federation lackey, hiding behind a uniform and an insignia. You understand very little if you think the Sword of Kahless can be boiled down in such a crass manner."
- Lieutenant Sahil: "Regardless of the various opinions on the Sword, Captain, I think it's important for us to retrieve it. I believe it's dangerous if left in the wrong hands. I'm counting on you to find it as quickly as possible."
Epilogue
- Vedek Bareil Antos : "Captain, thank you for your efforts. Based on the information you've brought us, it would seem the Sword has found its way into the hands of the Terran Empire!"
- Su'kal: "...but he used the same sword to slay Molor AND harvest his father's fields?"
- K'mpec: "AND carve a statue of his beloved. You have much to learn of Klingon history, young man. Perhaps once the Captain here successfully retrieves the Sword, you will have the opportunity to see it firsthand!"
