Storyline
Announcement
Those of the present have had to deal with the implications of the “dead” coming back time and time again. But some of those long-lost friends want to catch up on the things they missed. But can we ever go back again? [1]
Prologue
- Displaced Boimler: "Hey, Captain, so I've been taking a look at some things, talking to some guys from the DTI - the ones that" actually talk to me - and I think we should be more careful about all these alternate versions of the same person here. Especially the ones who are supposed to be de--"
- Niners Jadzia: 'Captain! Great timing! I've been catching up with everyone on Deep Space Nine and realizing there's a lot I've missed. Like a baseball game with Benjamin and the rest of the crew? Unfortunately Solok's refusing a rematch, but i found a bunch of Romulans who're game. You in?‘
- Innovator Rom: "Baseball? I love baseball! We're building a stadium on Ferenginar...well, once the Gaming Commission approves our betting complex. I'd love to play...and handle your concession stand too. You know, I bet if Empress Sela was there, lots of Romulans would pay to see the game...'
- Displaced Boimler: "Sela!? Like Tasha Yar's daughter that shouldn't exist Selal? Why do I even try!? You all want a baseball game? Fine! ...Captain, please make sure things don‘t get out of hand and that they don't screw up the timeline anymore than it already is."
Intermission
- Niners Jadzia: "That was a blast, Captain! Seeing Garak fake out Vreenak when the bases were loaded at the bottom of the ninth was really something! It seems the spectators really enjoyed our match with the Romulan Raptors too. We've got teams from factions the galaxy over lining up to play."
- Human Neelix: 'That's wonderful news! Perhaps these games can bring others who were gone before their time together like they did for the Niners. And you know, the Nagus and I were talking about replacing concessions with a Quark's to ensure all spectators get the best refreshment experience."
- Displaced Boimler: "Great! Even more people out of place and time! And you wanna add alcohol to that mix!? What's gonna stop people from just making up whole teams of alternate versions of their best players?"
- Choice A
- Captain: "Sounds like a good way to forge some intergalactic good will."
- Niners Jadzia: "Doesn't it? I don't know how long this anomaly crisis will last - or how much longer I'll have with my friends - so ljust want to enjoy every minute I get."
- Choice B
- Captain: "None of these are new concerns, Mr. Boimler. Maybe you should join the team!"
- Displaced Boimler: "And end up getting clobbered by Worf for striking out or thrown out of the game by Odo because my foot was a millimeter shy of home base? ..-actually, that does sound like fun."
- Choice C
- Captain: "A Quark's already? Wow, you guys didn't waste any time, did you?"
- Innovator Rom: "It's like the old human expression goes - you gotta strike while the watched pot's hot! Or is it supposed to be an iron? Well, you know what I mean, Captain, we can't miss out on a good opportunity!"
- Niners Jadzia: "It‘s a great day for baseball. Think you can help make our games a success, Captain?"
Epilogue
- Niners Jadzia: "That was great, Captain. Thank you for making it possible. You know, I was talking to some other players - Tasha Yar, Kes, Robert Tomlinson - and we were thinking of making our own team and travelling the galaxy. Ensign Boimler, what do you think?"
