Storyline
Announcement
Raging subspace particle storms have encircled Trill, blocking all communications in or out. Probes launched by the rescue fleet are torn apart after passing through the storm wall. Time is running out, solutions are needed urgently. [1]
Prologue
- Lieutenant Commander Airiam: "I'm very happy to hear from Starfleet once again, Captain. Reports are streaming in from across Trill of fractures opening on the planet's surface. Evacuations are proceeding, but millions are in danger because of our actions."
- Lieutenant Commander Airiam: "Starfleet assigned me to the Trill Science Academy to assist in their subspace research. Soon after, Section 31 overrode our goals to prioritize the Q imprisonment project. It's based on data that Voyager collected when they observed fighting between the Q."
- Miss Q: "Incredible. Our conflict caused enormous damage to the entire Q Continuum. And you tiny beings believed yourself capable of replicating powers of that magnitude? How irresponsible can one species possibly be? And that's coming from a Q."
- Lieutenant Commander Airiam: "I'm so sorry for my role in this disaster. Our first test of the device tore a cascading hole in subspace, which created the storms around Trill. We have no alternative but to reverse the device. Section 31 has scientists briefed on the project, but we need them here to help."
Intermission
- Lieutenant Commander Airiam: "The team here has cracked a... possible solution. Dismantling the experiment requires coordination between the Trill Science Academy and your fleet in orbit. As we work here, you must direct tetryon beams into the subspace storms to stabilize them. So they don't destroy you."
- Section 31 Philippa Georgiou: "Surely there mus be some way to do this without destroying the experiment. There's such potential in having our own pet Q. Who would ever challenge the Federation if we held that much power?"
- Choice A
- Captain: "Look at the devastation it's causing. We must shut it down."
- : "
- Choice B
- Captain: "Consider this a practice run. You'll know more for next time."
- : "
- Choice C
- Captain: "Why does Section 31 believe it can capture an omnipotent being anyway?"
- Section 31 Philippa Georgiou: "Section 31 understands that if you truly desire stability across the galaxy, you must do anything to achieve it. If we push hard enough, we'll always find a way to get what we want."
- Lieutenant Commander Airiam: "We're ready here when you are. Containing the subspace storms will tax all the systems in the fleet. But, there's no other option. This must work, Captain, for the lives of everyone on the planet."
Epilogue
- Lieutenant Commander Airiam: "The subspace particle storms have completely dissipated. Seismic activity on Trill has returned to normal. We've done it. I promise to destroy all documents relating to this project. It should never have begun at all."
- God Q: "Ah, Captain. You've done it again. Lives saved, order restored. Had I placed a bet on your chances, I would have lost! Which is no matter, since what does a Q need with money in the first place? The point is... I may now understand what that other version of me sees in you."
- Judge Q: "You should trust that I know what I'm doing, Q. I have my reasons, even if you don't quite grasp them yet. And, you will eventually... since you're me. But your playtime is over now. Though, before you leave, I must say how dashing you look in that robe." [SNAP.]
- Judge Q: "So, now we see the truth behind the vaunted human morality - don't we, Captain? These plans for imprisoning innocent people for your own purposes? Jean-Luc alawys prattles on about the human trait of striving to improve, to grow. I see little evidence of that here."
- Judge Q: "Humanity may ave seen the error of its ways this time, but what comes next? And what if the project had actually worked? I've risked a great deal guiding you during this temporal crisis. So, don't let me down. I'll always be watching."
