Storyline
Announcement
A new Galaxy event!! [1]
Prologue
- CMO Garak: "Hello, Captain, good of you to answer my hails. I'll get right down to business. I'm looking for some of the brightest minds and boldest hearts in Starfleet to assist with a little experiment of mine. Nothing too difficult, really, although it will require some time and travel."
- Hologram Bashir: "Garak, I've already told you, you can't be that vague, especially with the risks involved in the experiments you're running. Captain, these experiments will require an expert hand, but they are quite dangerous. We know so little about the fissures and their effects."
- CMO Garak: "Which is why we're running these experiments. There is no reward without risk, especially when traveling the stars. So what do you say, Captain? Think you could help a doctor out with his simple request?"
- Fissure Guest T'Pol: "I share Doctor Bashir's trepidation. If these truly are 'simple' experiments, I believe Doctor Garak would be more forthcoming. Still, I believe the expertise of your crew could prove quite useful - and your ethical oversight may ensure these experiments conclude safely."
Intermission
- CMO Garak: "Well done, Captain! Thanks to you and your crew, l have even more data to work with than I ever could have dreamed of. And as a bonus, no one died. Isn't science truly a wonder? Are you ready for the next round of experiments?"
- Alternate Reality Keras: "This is not an isolated incident. I still struggle to understand what I have seen. In my reality, what you call the Neutral Zone is the main battlefront of an ongoing inter-faction war."
- Hologram Bashir: "You're doing more?! Garak, I don't know how things were in your universe, but 'no one died' isn't the baseline metric of safety we aim for in this Starfleet! Now come on, can't you tell us what you're really looking for? There must be more than simply studying the fissures!"
- Choice A
- Captain: "What are the next round of experiments?"
- CMO Garak: "Nothing too difficult, I assure you. We've found a group of mostly willing researchers and subjects from three factions who we'll be running some tests with - and on."
- Choice B
- Captain: "What are you really up to?"
- CMO Garak: "Now why do you ask that with such an air of distrust, Captain? Aren't you curious about the fissures? How they differ from the anomalies? The effects they might have? How we might best deal with them - or if we should deal with them at all?"
- Choice C
- Captain: "So you and Doctor Bashir aren't from the same universe?"
- CMO Garak: "I'm afraid not. Julian and I met aboard the Anaximander after coming through fissures of our own. And one day, when this mystery is solved, I'm sure we'll finally be able to retire peacefully in my universe."
- CMO Garak: "That's enough discussion for now. Come on, Captain, you and your crew don't want to delay the fun any longer, do you?"
Epilogue
- Fissure Guest T'Pol: "Captain, thank you for assisting with Doctor Garak's experiments...and insuring that they remain ethically and medically sound. His intentions can be difficult to read. I am certain he is hiding something more, but I am beginning to think it may actually be to our benefit."
