Storyline
Announcement
Despite early suspicions, the temporal distortion may not have been the accident it was first believed to be. There are some who believe that may not be a bad thing. But who is behind this? Can the present timeline be preserved? Should it be? [1]
Prologue
- Carpenter Street T'Pol: "Captain, it would seem our original suspicions about what brought us back to this point in history may not have been entirely correct. There is reason to believe the anomalies that sent us back were generated intentionally, rather than by accident."
- 2024 Picard: "I believe you may be right, Sub-Commander. There are many differences between the makeup of these anomalies and the ones we've seen in our own time. Unfortunately, we have yet to pinpoint a perpetrator."
- Judge Q: "Come now, Picard. Don't tell me you no idea. I would think your eyes would be open wide by now. You may still be sold on that sap about the Federation being a beacon of hope, but surely you recognize it has its share of...haters, to borrow a term from this century."
- Judge Q: "Just as the birth of the Federation was more than that pivotal first contact, so too are the forces that threaten to snuff it out more than they seem. It you hope to find them, Captain, you'll need to learn to see the forest for the trees...to borrow another saying from this era."
Intermission
- 2024 Picard: "What've you got to say now, Q? It would seem we've managed to suss out those who brought us here. Though to think it would be the Romulans and the Borg working with several others... "
- Carpenter Street T'Pol: "Yet, our perpetrators are but a small contingent. It would seem our omnipotent interloper has overestimated those working against us...or perhaps underestimated our own abilities."
- Judge Q: "Is that an attempt at trash talk? Or a motivational speech? With you Vulcans, it's so hard to tell. Either way, your overconfidence is amusing. What are you going to do about the ones you've caught? How are you getting home? Don't tell me you expect a ride from the Romulans?"
- Choice A:
- Captain: "They have no choice but to assist us."
- Judge Q: "Ah yes, force it out of them. You're really a shining example of the Federation's ideals, aren't you, Captain?"
- Choice B:
- Captain: "We will find a way."
- Judge Q: "Such optimism and yet you cannot solve the temporal anomaly crisis from your own time."
- Choice C:
- Captain: "Good point. The Borg have more room."
- Judge Q: "I doubt your sense of humor will land well with the old hive mind. But at least it'll be a quiet ride assuming you aren't plugged in to the Collective."
- Judge Q: "It's about time you all head back to your own time, don't you think, Captain? These tabloids are gaining a little too much credibility off all these actual alien sightings."
