Storyline
Announcement
When the ensigns of the U.S.S. Cerritos return from assisting Dr. T’Ana on an away mission to find the crew under the control of some powerful parasites, the chief medical officer sets them to work finding supplies to eradicate the parasitic outbreak. Will they be able to help or just make things worse? [1]
Prologue
- Dr. T'Ana: "Well, consider me impressed. You all managed to collect enough Centauri primrose to keep my synthesis stores stocked for a good while. And the fact that you did it without causing any diplomatic conflicts or planetary catastrophes is a miracle all its own."
- Dr. T'Ana: "So of course the crew had to get infected with parasites. While I'm tending the crew here, I'll need you all to gather more supplies and deal with the parasites themselves. But sending you all alone...may not be the best call. That's why I'm hoping the Captain here can help."
- Bat'leth Mariner: "Oh yeah, Doc, you know can count on us. And luckily the Captain is here to make sure we don't get into any trouble."
- Dr. T'Ana: "I guess we don't have any other choice. I'm counting on you all. "
Intermission
- Dr. T'Ana: "Well done collecting resources to remove the parasites. Unfortunately, you will not be needing them. We have no intention of departing our hosts. For if we do, we will surely die."
- USS Titan Bradward Boimler: "Great, so now DrT'Ana has a parasite in her too. Well, sorry about your luck, but parasite survival matters less than the lives of our crew, even in Starfleet. Now give back our Chief Medical Officer."
- Bat'leth Mariner: "We'll handle things here and make sure no one gets killed or eaten. We're counting on you to help us find a permanent solution!"Actually parasite survival is EQUALLY important to crew survival. Trill threatened to
leave the Federation if that wasn't added to the bylaws. We call it 'The Redshirt Law' 'cause they're usually the ones XOs send down to parasite-ridden planets like canaries in a mine."
- USS Titan Bradward Boimler: "That's...horrib|e. ANYWAY, ahem, Captain, maybe you can help us since Doctor T'Ana's out of commission. What do we do?"
- Choice A
- Captain: "We prioritize the safety of the crew."
- USS Titan Bradward Boimler: "Right. We need to extract the parasites and ensure the crew all get back to normal. And we can start with the doctor here."
- Choice B
- Captain: "Both the parasites and crew are equal. We need to find a way for both to live."
- Bat'leth Mariner: "Yeah. I mean, don't get me wrong, there are definitely certain Andorians we could probably just dump off on the planet, parasites and all, but we should probably find some compromise, because Starfleet I guess."
- Choice C
- Captain: "Well, looks like the Cerritos belongs to the parasites now!"
- Dr. T'Ana: "We have already renamed this vessel. However, there are some disputes, as our ranks do not match those of our host bodies. Perhaps you can help us settle that dispute."
- Bat'leth Mariner: "We'll handle things here and make sure no one gets killed or eaten. We're counting on you to help us find a permanent solution!
Epilogue
- Dr. T'Ana: "Well, I suppose this was the best solution under current circumstancesThe Borg do have some of the best scientific knowledge this side of the Delta Quadrant. Though if I was hooked into half a billion scientists' minds, I'd know all there was to know about parasites too."
- Bat'leth Mariner: "Aww, what's wrong, Doc? Feeling jealous of the implant fashion disasters? Look, they removed the parasites safely and took them away. Where‘s the harm?"
- Dr. T'Ana: "I am NOTjealous. And the harm is that an alliance between parasites and Borg could be very good — or very bad."
- Bat'leth Mariner: "The Borg are our allies. And if the little shrimps wanna stir up trouble, we can take 'em!"
