Storyline
Announcement
After negotiating a new iteration of the Seldonis IV Convention, Spock and a recently freed Tholian go to take the Changeling Thrax to task over the mystery prisoners, will you join them? [1]
Prologue
- Thrax: "Many of these prisoners aren't even from your Federation, so why is it you solids from Starfleet insist on inserting yourself into matters that scarcely concern you? I suspect it's just a sort of arrogance inherent to all solids."
- Prisoner Spock: "On behalf of the United Federation of Planets and under the auspices of the updated Seldonis IV Convention, in which your own people participated, I am here to hear whatever grievances you have, so that we might resolve this matter as peacefully as possible."
- Armed Philippa Georgiou: "No response. It seems to not share your desire for a peaceful resolution. Then again, the Dominion seem to run on their own unique sense of order. I do not believe this Changeling is acting alone. Though, choosing the form of a Cardassian security officer is also intriguing."
- Prisoner Spock: "What motive would the Dominion as a whole have, or even the Cardassians, for keeping prisoners of war for so long? We need more information, Captain. On the Changeling and the Cardassian whose identity it stole."
Intermission
- Prisoner Spock: "Captain, your diligence is appreciated. We have a much better understanding of the situation at hand. And, from the intelligence you've gathered at least, I see no evidence of Dominion involvement beyond the Changeling in question."
- Thrax: "Dominion involvement? What is it you suspected? That this was some ploy? That the other Founders would sully their hands so? What could you possibly have that my people would risk their treaty to gain from you impudent solids?"
- Choice A:
- Captain: "If the Dominion as a whole isn't involved, why are you using prisoners of war?"
- : "
- Choice B:
- Captain: "Why did you choose Thrax's form?"
- Thrax: "The former security chief of Terek Nor, or Deep Space Nine, as you call it now. A Cardassian responsible for law and order at the very entrance to our realm. I could think of no better way to gain your attention."
- Choice C:
- Captain: "What will it take to get you to return the prisoners?"
- Thrax: "I merely seek to restore the dignity lost at the close of the Dominion War, to see you solids pay the proper respect, to recognize our superior sense of order, and to make amends for your grievous trespasses into our territory."
- Prisoner Spock: "He's cut communication once more. Obviously he is disinterested in a rebuttal. While you were speaking with him, Captain, I noticed something odd in the information you found. It appears the real Thrax may be among the prisoners. I think it's time to attempt a rescue."
- Prisoner Spock: "We can make a play at the Dominion's pride to get them to assist us in tying up this loose end, though I wouldn't expect much assistance from them."
- Armed Philippa Georgiou: "Yes, I wouldn't expect much either. In the meantime, I've reached out to a few factions with a bit more experience taking less...conventional roots to get results. Why don't you try working with them, Captain, to see what sort of rescue plan you can come up with?"
Epilogue
- Prisoner Spock: "Excellent work, Captain. It appears we have everything we need. I believe now is as good a time as any to proceed to the Gamma Quadrant and retrieve the prisoners."
- Thrax: "You won't find what you're looking for. You solids are better off looking into your past and rectifying your transgressions against the benevolent Founders and the Dominion as a whole."
- Armed Philippa Georgiou: "What do you mean we won't find what we're looking for? Where are the prisoners? You've scarcely given us a chance to understand what it is you even desire."
- Thrax: "I desire retribution for the blatant disregard for our species. It was you solids who forced your way into our domain. You have one week to prostrate yourselves before the Founders and make right what was wrong if you wish to be reunited with those you thought lost."
