Storyline
Announcement
More and more people are beginning to question the “end” of the temporal anomaly crisis. Work with renowned and revived scientists to determine who would have the power to fake such an event and why, while working against those who would rather live in a fake paradise than a difficult reality.
Prologue
- Century Guinan: "You've heard of Osyraa? If you haven't, you will soon. She couldn't manage to take control of our universe, so she's gone back in time to when it would be easier--Earth, at the turn of the twentieth century."
- Victorian Pulaski: "This can't be good, obviously, knowing what we know about her. But she's a very determined woman. You almost have to admire her insistence on getting what she wants."
- Century Guinan: "I don't have to do anything. I'm not a Starfleet officer. But you two are, and I could use a vacation. Let's see just what kind of past Osyraa's creating for your people, and figure out how to fix it."
Intermission
- Victorian Pulaski: "I'm a doctor, not a historian... but Osyraa's version of Earth history at this time seems almost better to me, than what we had."
- Century Guinan: "I have to agree. She's eliminated the vast wealth inequality you had at that time. Advanced the sciences, improved lives..."
- Choice A
- Captain: "But how did she do it? I doubt it was without any brutality."
- Century Guinan: "Oh, there was definitely brutality. You don't want to know what she did to the Rockefellers. "
- Choice B
- Captain: "Even if it is better then, it could turn out worse in the future."
- Century Guinan: "The scars of this crisis. We'll always wonder what effect our actions will have on our descendants. Maybe that's not a bad thing."
- Choice C
- Captain: "Problem solved, sounds like. Let's leave her to it."
- Victorian Pulaski: "To speak frankly, Captain, that might be the laziest answer I've ever heard from a Starfleet officer."
- Victorian Pulaski: "Osyraa might have made things better, but we need the original history to ensure our present. Maybe there's a way we can let her have her little utopia, but as an alternate universe. Like that awful mirror place, which I hope I never have to visit..."
Epilogue
- Osyraa: "You just couldn't help seeing what I've been up to, could you? I think you saw that I'm not so bad. I just want to make people's lives better, use resources in an intelligent and efficient way. And crush the idiots who'd stop me, of course."
- Osyraa: "I wasn't really going for existing in some alternate, not-real universe... but I suppose it feels real enough, to those of us living in it. You keep your prime universe of chaos, then. Maybe you'll come join me someday. I do owe you one, for letting it stand."
