Storyline
Announcement
Starfleet continues its wellness push among its ranks, but no amount of R&R can counter the increasing threats from Pascal Fullerton and his new “students” [1]
Prologue
- Relaxed Number One: "It would be much easier to enjoy leave if the looming threat of Pascal Fullerton weren't hanging over us. He's like a rain cloud threatening to ruin a sunny day."
- Yeoman Barrows: "Rain cloud isn't a bad way to describe him. He sure is a stick in the mud. I can't even say I understand what his problem with the Federation is."
- Luau Chakotay: "He insists the Federation and Starfleet have gone soft. This recent wellness push by Starfleet certainly isn't helping convince him we haven't all turned hedonistic and self—centered."
- Luau Chakotay: "But the temporal anomaly crisis has presented some of the most intense challenges of my career. I'd love to be able to enjoy my leave without worry. Think you can help us all out, Captain?"
Intermission
- Yeoman Barrows: "Thank you, Captain, for your assistance. It seems like you helped resolve several issues at once. And it looks like Pascal Fullerton has actually backed off."
- Relaxed Number One: "Don't speak too soon. This message just came in from Pascal himself. Coordinates indicate he's on a world at the edge of Federation space that Starfleet was using for leave and team-building. Listen."
- Pascal Fullerton: "It seems you have no interest in getting the message. I'm afraid I'll need to take more drastic measures. But if it opens your eyes, it's worth it. My demands are attached. You will meet them if you want to see these people again."
- Choice A
- Captain: "He's taken hostages?"
- Luau Chakotay: "Apparently. There were a few crews doing team-building exercises on that planet during their leave. No one can get in touch with the individual captains. He must have taken all communication devices."
- Choice B
- Captain: "What is it he wants?"
- Yeoman Barrows: "His list of 'demands' isn't exactly coherent. Some of it is supplies. Then there are some esoteric items like 'We demand the Federation begin adhering to the Prime Directive it espouses'. How exactly do we prove we 'meet' that demand?"
- Choice C
- Captain: "Is it just me or is he insistent on being miserable?"
- Luau Chakotay: "Well, Captain, looks like we'll have to lean on you again. You might need to get creative with this one. There's no telling what's going on down there."
- Luau Chakotay: "Well, Captain, looks like we'll have to lean on you again. You might need to get creative with this one. There's no telling what's going on down there."
Epilogue
- Pascal Fullerton: "It's clear to me the Federation will never change, not without significant incentive. Enjoy your reprieve. You're all going to need it."
- Relaxed Number One: "Well, that certainly was comforting. At least all the hostages are safe. But what do you think he meant by that?"
- Luau Chakotay: "At best? He isn't giving up. But I have a feeling this is just the prelude to something much worse."
