Storyline
Announcement
Joran makes it known that he has taken up the resistance group’s mantle with attacks on a Klingon outpost and a Borg cube. His actions not only threaten to turn old enemies against the Federation once more, but to unravel certain loose ties from within, all in the name of getting the Trill to recognize his group and their cause - The Hollowed! [1]
Prologue
- Lela Kira: "It seems Verad's group has resurfaced, with Joran at the helm. They're claiming responsibility for two attacks that occurred across the galaxy at roughly the same time. One on a Klingon outpost; the other on a Borg cube. What are they up to and just how many of them are there?"
- Joran Sisko: "There are plenty of us, Major. And there will be countless more once our people learn the truth that the Symbiosis Commission has fought so hard to silence. This is merely the opening act. We are The Hollowed and the wrong done to us will be made right."
Intermission
- Joran Sisko: "The Trill Symbiosis Commission wobbles atop a paper-thin foundation, ready to collapse in on itself at any moment. It would rather destroy those of us who know the truth rather than ever allowing it to see the light. That is why we, The Hollowed, fight."
- Verad Dax: "We are Trill who have been left hollow - either by having our symbionts removed before the joining is complete or by being denied the opportunity to become whole in the first place."
- Verad Dax: "The Commission plays God over what Trill has the right to join with which symbiont. Why should they alone have that choice?"
- Choice A:
- Captain: "Why shouldn't they?"
- Verad Dax: "Why should one insular commission have power over something that could impact half of all Trill? Something so life—altering? It's ludicrous!"
- Choice B:
- Captain: "You're angry at a Trill agency and you attack a Borg cube and Klingon outpost?"
- Joran Sisko: "Yet, that is precisely what got your attention, is it not? The Trill Symbiosis Commission has as much power as it des by keeping this matter within our society for so long. It is time for the rest of the Federation - and the galaxy - to pay attention!"
- Choice C:
- Captain: "There aren't enough symbionts for everyone."
- Verad Dax: "For right now, perhaps. The Guardians are so insistent on pampering the symbionts instead of finding ways to breed more of them. We've already found a way to split host consciousnesses. I'm sure we could manage improving symbiont breeding."
- Symbiont Pool Jadzia: "They're serious. And they have managed to split not only the former Dax hosts' memories, but their consciousnesses as well. If there's a way to split them, there has to be a way to reunite them."
Epilogue
- Symbiont Pool Jadzia: "Thank you, Captain. With your help, we've finally figured out how they managed the split - and how to restore the other host consciousnesses to Dax. It has been lonely without them."
- Symbiont Pool Jadzia: "We still need to rescue Benjamin though. And knowing Joran, l have a feeling he won't come quietly."
