Storyline
Announcement
Things are not always as they seem on Risa, as Captain Lucero will discover. Can you lend her a hand? [1]
Prologue
- Captain Lynne Lucero: "Hey there! Nice to see another Starfleet Captain who chose to vacation on Risa. Would you like to join me? Just...try to lean forward so that the Admiral over there can't see me. I don't want him to...Oh GREAT, he's coming over...."
- Admiral Maxwell Forrest: "Captain Lucero. Administrative leave is meant to be a time of reflection. I hope you aren't on Risa celebrating the gross incompetence that led to the loss of your ship. I read that report, and you're lucky you weren't demoted back down to Cadet! I'll be watching you...."
- Captain Lynne Lucero: "That's all I need, an Admiral spying on me during my vacation. And...that waiter just followed him out of here pretty quickly. If the Admiral is engaging the resort staff to spy on me, I won't get a moment's peace."
- Captain Lynne Lucero: "Would you mind following that server, and the Admiral, to see if there's anything strange going on? My instincts are usually pretty good. Something isn't right."
Intermission
- Captain Lynne Lucero: "Captain! Did you find out anything about that server? It felt off."
- Choice A
- Captain: "The Admiral may be in danger."
- Captain Lynne Lucero: "This information is highly credible, Captain. We need to protect Admiral Forrest! And if we end up saving him, maybe he won't think I'm a total failure."
- Choice B
- Captain: "The server is not who he seems."
- Captain Lynne Lucero: "There's no denying this evidence, Captain. You've been thorough. Uncanny how the Xindi can disguise themselves as humans. It makes them extra dangerous. We need to help the Admiral, whether he realizes it or not."
- Choice C
- Captain: "Your instincts were right on."
- Captain Lynne Lucero: "A Xindi assassin? Wow. While I'm not happy there's a threat to Admiral Forrest, I am glad I can still rely on my intuitions."
- Captain Lynne Lucero: "You've been in Starfleet longer. How do you think we should proceed, Captain?"
- Choice A
- Captain: "Expose and capture Commander Dolim."
- Captain Lynne Lucero: "Removing this threat altogether seems to be in the Federation's best interest. A prisoner like Commander Dolim could offer Starfleet crucial information about the Xindi. And again, saving an Admiral would sure help my personnel file right about now. Let's work on that!"
- Choice B
- Captain: "Convince Commander Dolim to leave peacefully."
- Captain Lynne Lucero: "So, release Dolim now, to avoid a worse conflict later? I like the way you think, Captain. Let's do what we can to convince Dolim to leave, or to get the Dominion to recall him. Not the way I expected to spend a vacation on Risa, but if it offers me some redemption, so be it."
Epilogue
- Admiral Maxwell Forrest: "Captains, I'm not merely grateful that you kept me safe, but I'm also extremely impressed by the way you handled this entire situation."
- Admiral Maxwell Forrest: "You were thorough, you were methodical, you worked well together...And we now have a Xindi in custody. That will be invaluable to Starfleet. But...Captain Lucero...I feel that I owe you an apology. I've clearly misjudged you. You will both be commended for your conduct here."
- Admiral Maxwell Forrest: "Bartender, put these guests' drinks on my tab for the remainder of their stay. Captain Lucero, I said I will be watching you--and I will be--but for very different reasons, now. I hope your return to duty is very soon. Have fun on Risa, Captains."
- Captain Lynne Lucero: "We did it! Captain, I owe it all to you. Not only did you help me get in the good graces of an ADMIRAL, but, this whole situation reminded me why I joined Starfleet in the first place. Thank you so much! Now let's celebrate with some Risan Mai Tai's."
