Storyline
Announcement
While the Dosi may yet have some kind of solution for the temporal anomaly crisis, they do have a dark ulterior motive: traumatized individuals from other timelines who have appeared in their space have proven a source of entertainment for the Dosi, and they are hungry for more--hence their demands that Starfleet prove their toughness. Work to rescue these individuals from Dosi space. [1]
Prologue
- Luma Rahl Kira: "Taking people's trauma and using it for entertainment? If it were up to me, we'd be carpet bombing every Dosi bank and warehouse from here to the Gamma Quadrant."
- EV Suit Pike: "It's not up to you. We're going to rescue those people, but we're not going to make the Federation a new enemy when we have enough to deal with. We're going to do this smart and quiet--like businesspeople."
- Tribble Quark: "Look, when I err, I admit it. And I'm gonna do my part to help. My people know the Dosi best. We'll act as your agents here. The Dosi won't suspect us, and we won't have any casualties except in latinum. Which still hurts."
Intermission
- Luma Rahl Kira: "Credit where it's due, Quark. The Ferengi know an incredible amount about the Dosi. Which is why it's so shocking that you ever suggested we make a deal with them in the first place."
- Tribble Quark: "I was desperate, all right? I want out of this crisis as much as anyone else. At least we found out about the Dosi's little scheme? These people might have remained their captive court jesters for decades otherwise."
- Choice A
- Captain: "Captain Pike, what's our next move?"
- no unique dialogue, go to Pike's "Now we know" line
- Choice B
- Captain: "How is it the Dosi haven't conquered the Ferengi?"
- Tribble Quark: "Can't trade if there's no one to trade with. The Dosi respect us. Just not you... or me, for being your friend."
- Choice C
- Captain: "Can we burn all their money now?"
- no unique dialogue, go to Quark's "Please, Captain" line
- Tribble Quark: "Please, Captain, don't talk like that! Isn't this hard enough without you giving me nightmares on top of it?"
- EV Suit Pike: "Now we know how to speak the Dosi language. The Ferengi are going to trade for each one of these individuals on our behalf while we figure out how best to sanction the Dosi for this. I'll keep the money burning in mind."
Epilogue
- EV Suit Pike: "I know our mandate was to do this through the Ferengi, but it didn't sit well with me, trading for people. So, I may have mentioned what the Dosi did to a reporter or two."
- Luma Rahl Kira: "The Dosi have been condemned and embargoed by everyone they normally trade with. It's a metaphorical fire, but it'll do."
- Tribble Quark: "Friends, I know I'm becoming the Ferengi who cried credits, but I've been talking with some of the people who've been rescued, and I think the promised Dosi solution to the temporal anomaly crisis might not be as imaginary as we thought...."
