Storyline
Announcement
Odo sends a very staticy and difficult to understand distress call to Starfleet - he keeps slipping to different points in time, and has lost control of his shapeshifting abilities! Elizabeth Dehner says with her psionic abilities, she has managed to lock on to Odo’s location in time, but she cannot guarantee for how long! The Klingon healer Antaak believes that he can treat Odo’s uncontrollable shapeshifting - provided they can return him to the 24th century. The Dominion has also begun to take a sharp interest in the situation. Will Captains be able to figure out a way to retrieve Odo before he’s lost to time forever? [1]
Prologue
- Army Chaplain Odo: "This is Constable Odo of Deep Space Nine. I hope this distress call might actually reach someone in the Federation. While retrieving stolen goods that were taken through the Bajoran wormhole, it appears I somehow ended up in a temporal rift."
- Army Chaplain Odo: "I don't know how it happened, but I will be paying a certain Ferengi back for my trouble on my return. The period I've landed in appears to be in the twentieth century. I lost control of my shapeshifting abilities, though the humans here seem at ease with my current appearance."
- Elizabeth Dehner: "Captain, we heard the distress call too. I'm not used to these psionic abilities, but I am managing to pick up faint traces of the Changeling throughout time. If I could manage to lock on to him, I may be able to help bring him home."
- Antaak: "A Changeling, stranded in the past, who has lost control of his shapeshifting abilities. This could be a fascinating research opportunity. If you could get him back to the present, Captain, I might be able to help stabilize his shapeshifting."
Intermission
- Elizabeth Dehner: "Captain, I've pinpointed the Constable's temporal location. With the knowledge you've gained, you should be able to build a temporal transporter, right? Please be quick about it. I do not know how long I can hold on his position."
- Army Chaplain Odo: "Doctor, thank you for your assistance. I'm trying to hold this form as long as I can."
- Choice A
- Captain: "Just a little longer, Constable."
- Army Chaplain Odo: "I'm doing the best I can, Captain, believe me. It won't be a moment too soon when I get back there. I'll throw that Ferengi in the brig for as long as the Federation will allow."
- Choice B
- Captain: "What's the twentieth century like?"
- Army Chaplain Odo: "I'll regale you with the finer details another time, Captain. For now, let's just say I've landed with a group of humans who take war far more lightly than anyone I've ever encountered."
- Choice C
- Captain: "Who were you retrieving the stolen cargo from?"
- Army Chaplain Odo: "I'll give you three guesses and the first two don't count. I believe that's how the saying goes."
- Elizabeth Dehner: "We're ready, Captain. Please, hurry with the transporter before I lose him again!"
Epilogue
- Army Chaplain Odo: "I thank ya, Captain–er, I mean, you have my thanks. It is a relief to be back. And don't worry, I ensured that dematerializer won't be able to make another trip. Can't risk humans from the past making regular trips to our era. If you'll excuse me, I need a break from solids."
- Elizabeth Dehner: "Captain, we did it. The Constable is back and with minimal impacts on history itself. I'm so relieved...."
- Antaak: "This woman needs medical attention. Her body is not built to handle intense use of psionic abilities. I'll tend to her, then ensure the Changeling has regained control of his shapeshifting capabilities. And Captain, it was a pleasure working with you."
