Storyline
Announcement
Spock acting as Captain during the Enterprise-A decommissioning ceremony, was yanked into the present. Before he could grasp what was happening, the Enterprise-A was boarded and he was forced to retreat. [1]
Prologue
- Captain Spock: "Thank you for your assistance. One moment, we were preparing for the Enterprise's decommissioning, and the next, the ship was boarded by scavengers armed with weapons that outmatched our own. We must retrieve the ship, though returning to my own time will be its own challenge."
- Douglas Pabst: "I'm adjusting to life here myself, Captain Spock, but thankfully the Captain here's been generous enough to let me ride along and get a sense of things. But it's quite a thrill to meet you. In my short time here, your name's come up quite a bit."
- Douglas Pabst: "Could I entice you to share some of your adventures over a drink? It'd give me some fodder for a good story if and when I get home and I might even have a few ideas to help you get back too."
- Prospect Michael Burnham: "You may have your drink with him once we retrieve the Enterprise, Mister Pabst. With Captain Spock and the rest of the crew safe, our imperative is to overcome these scavengers and regain control of the ship. Captain, I expect you and your crew are up to the task?"
Intermission
- Captain Spock: "Captain, thank you for retrieving the Enterprise. I see that your time period still has its fair share of problems, though one would think the necessities the Federation provides would discourage the need for that."
- Prospect Michael Burnham: "There are some for whom accumulating wealth will always be their drive. But the larger problem now is that word has spread that both you and the Enterprise are here. Completing repairs discretely will be difficult with so many out looking for you both."
- Douglas Pabst: "I think I might be able to help. You need someone who can spin this into the right narrative. Give people just enough exciting details about yourself and the ship to satisfy them so they won't be showing up and getting in the way of the actual repairs."
- Captain Spock: "As humans say, I think you may be onto something there, Mister Pabst. Captain, can we count on your help once more to get the necessary parts and see that the Enterprise is repaired?"
Epilogue
- Captain Spock: "The Enterprise 1701-A is functional once more and will be able to complete its final voyage now–whenever the temporal anomaly crisis is resolved, that is."
- Prospect Michael Burnham: "It may be some time before the temporal crisis is resolved, Spock, but you have a unique opportunity here. There are so many worlds we had yet to interact with in our time. You also have a chance to see what's become of the Federation in the century since."
- Douglas Pabst: "It'll definitely take you some getting used to, I won't lie. But getting the chance to taste the future is something most people will never have. For me, this time period is something that could have only been fathomable in the realm of fiction."
- Captain Spock: "Thank you both for your insights. There is truly much to behold in this time period. Now, Mister Pabst, I believe I owe you an interview, provided the drinks are on you."
