Storyline
Announcement
Starfleet receives an unexpected visit from the former members of Unimatrix Zero. Their ragtag fleet has come to warn the Federation that one of its greatest fears, the Borg, are on their way. The Unimatrix Zero refugees are seeking both shelter and an alliance, in the hopes that their knowledge can help save others from assimilation. But first, the quadrant will have to survive the arrival of the Borg, who are targeting some of the region’s fiercest factions in an attempt to cripple any resistance. [1]
Prologue
- Seven of Nine: "Do not be alarmed by the appearance of this fleet, Captain. We may appear to be drones, but I assure you we are individuals. We are all that is left of Unimatrix Zero, and we've traveled a long way to warn you: the Borg are coming."
- Seven of Nine: "I require assistance getting the rest of our ships to safety before they arrive. Our fleet was badly damaged during the voyage. I know you have defenses to prepare, but help us, and we'll share everything we know of the Borg's weaknesses."
Intermission
- Assimilated Torres: "The Borg are here. I'm getting reports of attacks throughout Klingon space. They've hit Boreth, Ty'Gokor...and reports are coming in from the Terran Empire and the Hirogen, too. Looks like the Borg are trying to wipe out our best chances of putting up a fight."
- Mirror Phlox: "No one understands the Borg's struggle for supremacy better than the Terran Empire, where careers live and die by the blade. If the Terran Empire falls, rest assured the galaxy will fall. We must save our strongest defenders first."
- Seven of Nine: "That is precisely why they do not need our help. The Klingons and the Terran Empire have major defenses, but the Hirogen fleet is in the greatest danger. They are unlikely to withstand an invasion on their own."
- choice A
- Captain: "Torres, how are the Klingons holding up against the Borg?"
- Assimilated Torres: "Not nearly as well as the High Council wants us to believe. My mother's people know how to fight, Captain, but all the honor in the world isn't going to keep them on their feet forever. Not against something like the Borg."
- choice B
- Captain: "Maybe we should let the Terran Empire live–or die–by the blade, Phlox."
- Stuff:
- choice C
- Captain: "What are the Hirogen's odds if we don't help them?"
- Seven of Nine: "There will be many casualties. Their ships are designed for hunting, not for resisting sustained attacks. Their efforts have been impressive, but they lack the resources for a continuous fight against the Borg."
- Seven of Nine: "We've had time to repair a few of our ships. Unimatrix Zero is ready to defend whatever sector you send us to. But you must choose quickly–the Borg will not wait."
Epilogue
- Assimilated Torres: "I've got a little bit of good news. The High Council managed to evacuate most of the Klingon colonies in the Borg's path. They didn't like backing down from a fight, but at least those civilians are safe for now. That's all thanks to the time you bought them."
- Assimilated Torres: "The bad news is, the invasion took a toll, and this was just the Borg's first strike. The Klingons put up a brave fight, but we'll need more than bravery to win. All of us from Unimatrix Zero will do whatever we can to help you send the Collective back where they came from."
