Storyline
Announcement
An urgent distress call from Captain Kirk alerts you to the escape of Chancellor L'Rell with a band of allies from a newly formed maximum security penal colony for temporal offenders and trans-dimensional beings located on one of the moons of Alpha III. Kirk is in hot pursuit of the temporal menace, but Braxton’s escape isn’t the only problem... [2]
Prologue
- Incognito Kirk: "I'm in pursuit of an escaped convict from the Department of Temporal Investigations' new max-security temporal penal facility over on one of Alpha III's moons. A guy by the name of Braxton. Supposedly one of our own from the future."
- Incognito Kirk: "He's got a nasty case of temporal psychosis and a track record to boot. It's bad enough we have to worry about him and the criminals he escaped with interfering with the timeline, but he also did a number on the facility's security system too. We need all the help we can get."
- 1701 Jadzia Dax: "Captain Kirk is right. I'm here at the behest of Section 31, trying to fix this thing quickly and quietly before we have any more escapees, and I can't figure out what he’s done to it. He had to have a plan, and he definitely had help."
- 1701 Jadzia Dax: "Repairing it to its original state won't be enough, they'll just do the same thing again. We need to make it better. This facility includes trans-dimensional beings among its numbers, some of whom cannot be allowed to have roam freely. The fabric of spacetime itself is at stake."
Intermission
- 1701 Jadzia Dax: "Captain, impressive work on the forcefield and the security system. The facility has never been more secure. I know you're planning to help with the pursuit, but be discreet. The temporal crisis is bad enough, we don't need hysteria because from temporal criminals on the loose."
- Incognito Kirk: "Who cares about discretion? If he starts jumping back in time and altering the past, intergalactic hysteria will be the least of anyone's concerns. We need to get this guy and lock him away where he belongs."
- Captain Braxton: "Funny to hear the man with the DTI’s thickest temporal incursion file making such overtures. You couldn't even protect this comm channel. I'll be centuries away before you have time to calibrate your tricorders."
- Choice A
- Captain: "Big words for a man who was an inaugural guest in temporal prison."
- Captain Braxton: "And what a joke that turned out to be. The clowns at the DTI are clueless. The Starfleet of this era has no clue what it's up against when it comes to time travel. You all are easy pickings for your far advanced descendants."
- Choice B
- Captain: "What is it you want, Braxton?"
- Captain Braxton: "What do I want? It should be pretty obvious. I want freedom."
- Choice C
- Captain: "You won't make it far. Our era lacks the temporal tools you need."
- Captain Braxton: "How impressively naive you are, Captain. You think all these players from the future would land here without the appropriate technology? My crew and I will have everything we need by day's end."
- Incognito Kirk: "Well, he certainly is full of hot air. Let's track him down and put him away for good, Captain."
Epilogue
- Incognito Kirk: "Admirable work, Captain. Braxton and his cohorts are back in custody where they belong and you managed to capture them before they could make any jumps to the past."
- Captain Braxton: "There isn't a prison from here to the thirty-fifth century that could hold me, Kirk! The DTI wants to lock me away and yet they're the ones who made me this way. You're all hypocrites, spouting utopian ideals but unwilling to get your hands dirty making it happen."
- Incognito Kirk: "There's a marked difference between naivete and capitalizing on moral grey and the privilege that comes with a position like yours, Braxton. Some more time orbiting Alpha III might help you to learn the difference."
- 1701 Jadzia Dax: "I never realized before visiting the temporal prison how much technology the DTI actually has access to. It makes you wonder why they haven't solved the temporal anomaly crisis yet. Maybe their inaction is intentional. If it is, then the only question is, why?"
