Storyline
Announcement
Cornered on Vulcan, Tarah effected an explosive escape from your task force, destroying the sacred Temple of Amonak. Now Vulcan authorities are demanding the Federation formally punish the Andorians. Adding to the quagmire are a series of mysterious attacks in Andorian space for which the Vulcans deny responsibility… and yet, the evidence is mounting. Uncover the truth behind these attacks while you fight to maintain peace between these ancient rivals. [1]
Prologue
- Suus Mahna Sarek: "The destruction of the Temple of Amonak is an unforgivable betrayal. Old hostilities are surfacing among those who remember the Andorians' violent past. We expect swift justice, Captain, and yet some suspect the Federation is aiding those who would mean us harm."
- Ambassador Shras: "You Vulcans! So quick to accuse, and so quick to turn against the rest of the Federation. And yet it is we Andorians who find ourselves under attack. If you insist on turning within, then it falls to someone else to search without. The Hirogen are said to enjoy a good hunt."
- Prospect Michael Burnham: "Such finger-pointing will yield no useful results. Captain, I believe if we are to quell these current hostilities, we will need to employ a positive propaganda strategy, such as one the Cardassians once used."
Intermezzo
- Prospect Michael Burnham: "Captain, the intelligence we've gathered points to Harry Mudd as the source of the current conflict between the Vulcans and Andorians, though we do not yet know what he stands to gain or how he has managed to orchestrate all of this. How do you intend to proceed?"
- choice A
- Captain: "Ambassador Sarek, did Section 31's internal investigation yield any useful intel?"
- Suus Mahna Sarek: "Indeed. This Harry Mudd has been playing our people against the Andorians, framing our people and yet encouraging rash action against the Vulcans. But Section 31 believes that they have suitable countermeasures in place."
- choice B
- Captain: "I wonder if the Hirogen feel up to another hunt."
- Ambassador Shras: "They have assured me, rather insistently, that they are always ready. Though they did not seem as excited at the prospect, I do believe there was talk among them of hunting down Mudd's suppliers, essentially cutting him off where it hurts."
- choice C
- Captain: "Could some of that Cardassian propaganda be used to sway Mudd?"
- Prospect Michael Burnham: "What information I've managed to find on this man suggests that he is unlikely to be swayed by emotion or concern for the welfare of anyone other than himself. It does seem, however, that wealth is important to him. To that end, the Cardassians may be able to entice him."
- Suus Mahna Sarek: "With the time anomalies as they are, someone as intent upon chaos and destruction as Mudd cannot be allowed free roam. I leave it to you and those you've chosen to aid you, Captain, to prevent this man from causing further friction within the Federation."
Epilogue
- Harry Mudd: "Captain, you're looking well. You know, I actually wanted to see if we could work something out. I wouldn't call it a surrender...more like a case of, "I scratch your back, you call off your attack dogs!" How about it? I'll have to let the boss know of course..."
- Lieutenant Tarah: "Like a dog with his tail between his legs. It's just as well. I don't think we'll be needing your services anymore anyway, Mister Mudd."
- Lieutenant Tarah: "The Vulcans have shown their true colors and my people have seen the truth. They'll no longer kowtow to the Vulcans' oppressive nature, members of the Federation or not. Prepare to feel the wrath of the Andorian people–my people."
