Storyline

Announcement

A distress call from a science vessel indicates a vicious attack by the Gorn. But when a rescue team arrives and finds the Gorn Destroyer equally ravaged, questions begin to arise - about what happened and what exactly the top secret project the science vessel was investigating was.[1]

Prologue

  • Valeo Beta V Spock: "Captain, I appreciate you answering my request for aid. A Federation science vessel sent out a distress signal, indicating they had been attacked by the Gorn. But the rescue team dispatched to help them has also gone silent and there are no signs of life aboard the Gorn vessel."
  • Valeo Beta V Sam Kirk: "It's strange for that Federation ship to be this far out. And though we're detecting no life signs, the Destroyer's defenses - hell, even their offenses - have activated. We can't get in to rescue the rescue team. We need someone to engage the ship while we sneak aboard."
  • Valeo Beta V La'an: "You're taking for granted that there are no Gorn left. That's a deadly mistake. We need to exercise due caution in situations like this, especially when the Gorn are involved."

Intermission

  • Valeo Beta V Sam Kirk: "Captain, we made it aboard, thanks to cover you provided. But I don't know what to make of this. There are aliens here with mushroom~shaped heads. We're having some communication issues. At any rate, we've managed to round up survivors and hole up in a safe part of the ship."
  • Valeo Beta V Spock: "The interior of the Destroyer is...missing. And I do not mean it has been removed or damaged. It is gone - as is the area of space it occupied. I apologize, I do not know how to describe it in any way that would align with what we know about the laws of physics."
  • Valeo Beta V La'an: "Why don't you 'wonder' about that back onboard the Enterprise? You're still aboard a Gorn vessel. You don‘t have the luxury of navel—gazing. Let's get the survivors back here and destroy the vessel. That's the best course of action. Wouldn't you agree, Captain?"
  • Choice A
    • Captain: "We should investigate further."
    • Valeo Beta V Spock: ""I concur. Something is deeply wrong here. If we leave now — and especially if we destroy this vessel — we may never be able to recreate these circumstances in order to get answers as to what happened here.""
  • Choice B
    • Captain: "There could be other survivors."
    • Valeo Beta V Sam Kirk: "Yeah. We detected zero life signs before boarding, but we managed to find survivors. They're all in a catatonic state, but they're alive. Maybe that phenomena Spock described is blocking the sensors, but still, we can't leave without being sure we've found all of the survivors."
  • Choice C
    • Captain: "Agreed, we can't risk potential Gorn infestation."
    • Valeo Beta V La'an: "Right. I realize that by doing so, we risk destroying any evidence...or any potential survivors. But if there were rescuers we failed to detect...there could be Gorn still alive as well."
  • Valeo Beta V La'an: "Let's get the survivors back here. We can quarantine them in the transporter bay until they're medically cleared. And then, let's send that Gorn Destroyer to hell where it belongs!"

Epilogue

  • Valeo Beta V La'an: "The Corn Destroyer is gone. Thank you, Captain. I am sure you had your reservations, but it was the right call. Though...that shock wave in its wake..."
  • Valeo Beta V Spook: "Yes. That explosion took with it the science vessel as well. That appears to be where that shock wave emanated from. While it does not appear the 'missing space' phenomena we encountered aboard the vessel has continued, somethingstill...feels off."
  • Valeo Beta V Sam Kirk: "Anyone else get any weird visions when that shock wave went off? Just me? Either way, I'd like to get as far away from this chunk of space as possible. I'm getting the creeps. And I don't think it's just because of our silent passengers here."
  • Shroomies: "..."
