Storyline
Announcement
How much room for different versions of the same person is there in the present? What happens when some are pushed into darker pursuits? [1]
Prologue
- Admiral Shelby: "Captain, I appreciate your swift response. I'm sure you‘ve heard about the Orion ship striking Starfleet ships carrying precious cargo. It was bad enough when we believed these to be random attacks, but recent events suggest they may have access to Starfleet intel."
- Orion Captain: "Which is why it's puzzling you continue to insist Orion pirates are behind this. The Syndicate has already told you this particular vessel was among several that were stolen from an outpost. But as per usual, your Federation justice scarcely expands beyond your own people."
- Admiral Shelby: 'I don't care for what you're implying. It's a Syndicate ship. They've been stealing shipment after shipment. I'll believe this isn't an orchestrated Syndicate effort when I see it. Captain, please catch up to them so we can recover a vital shipment intended for Starbase 80."
Intermission
- Mirror Janeway: "Ah yes, the intergalactic hall monitors have arrived once more, sticking their noses where they don't belong. Or did the Syndicate send you? What? Can the Orions not handle a little competition?"
- Warship Torres: "The Orions always were all bark, no bite. That's why they rely so heavily on treachery — never could hold their own in a real fight."
- Displaced Boimler: "Captain Janeway!? B'Elanna Torres!? Is the timeline that screwed up that the both of you have been corrupted?"
- Choice A
- Captain: "We need that shipment back. We'll take it by force if we must."
- Mirror Janeway: "Captain, skipping formalities I see. Not even an offer of payment or some ruse to try and get me to beam somewhere to negotiate. Starfleet really must be overworking you. Still, if this shipment means so much to you, you'll make me a worthwhile offer."
- Choice B
- Captain: "You stole an Orion ship. How much longer do you think you can get away with this?"
- Warship Torres: "Don't waste our time, petaQ! We won't need this vessel anymore once we wipe your crew out and seize your ship!"
- Choice C
- Captain: "Times are tough, Mr. Boimler. Don't begrudge them taking up a new profession."
- Displaced Boimler: "Captain Janeway would never become a pirate! And neither would any self-respecting Klingon! Shame on you Captain!"
- Admiral Shelby: "We need to retrieve that shipment and bring these two in! I'm counting on you, Captain!"
Epilogue
- Warship Torres: "Turning us over to the authorities, Captain? What, are you too afraid to take us back yourself? You got lucky this time!"
- Admiral Shelby: "You're lucky we needed that shipment, or else we would have allowed the Syndicate to deal with you. I doubt you would get a fair trial then. And Captain, thank you. Starbase 80 has been begging for new uniforms, so Commander Sisko donated some from the Dominion War era."
