Common Ground (Event)
Vidiians arriving in the present bring with them the Phage, resulting in mutated strains. To contain and treat it, the Vidiians are strict in handling new arrivals via anomaly. When a warship goes missing, it may be more than the Vidiians at risk.

Storyline
Announcement
The constant arrival of infected Vidiians from other time periods has caused new outbreaks of the Phage, leading the Vidiians to create strict procedures for all Vidiians arriving from other time periods. However, some new arrivals are less than patient. When a warship being used to escort new arrivals goes missing, you are asked to track it down.[1]
Prologue
- Dereth: "We're reaching out to inquire whether or not you have seen one of warships. Exact details are being transmitted now. We would appreciate you notifying us as soon as you see it."
- Acting Chief Engineer Joe Carey: "That doesn't give us much to go on, does it? What do you mean have we seen one of your ships? Aren't you in control of your own fleet? Is this some sort of trap?"
- Motura: "Your distrust is understandable, after your past experiences with us. Those aboard that vessel pose a great dangerto our people - and perhaps others. We haven't much time to explain right now, but if you can help us to stop the ship's flight, we can explain more then."
- Concerning Flight Janeway: "True we have had our conflicts, but you endeavored to earn back our trust. Captain, I believe we can trust Motura. For now, let's find the warship and put a stop to its flight."
Intermission
- Dereth: "Magnificent! I mean, ahem, I suppose that was acceptable. But the ship still hasn't been apprehended. They're regrouping and i fear if we don't stop them now, they may still escape."
- Acting Chief Engineer Joe Carey: "You promised us an explanation if we helped you stopped the ship. I think we're entitled to that before things go any further."
- Motura: "Those aboard the warship are new Vidiian arrivals via temporal anomaly. These new arrivals have reintroduced the Phage, resulting in mutations and challenges treating it, even with the knowledge we have gained."
- Choice A
- Captain: "And then someone aboard this ship took matters into their own hands?"
- Motura: "That is our suspicion at least. Just like the rest of the galaxy, Vidiians arriving via anomaly are coming from all throughout time. Who knows what could have been their motivation. I strongly suspect it was fear and distrust."
- Choice B
- Captain: "Don't you think that's something you should have shared with us sooner?"
- Dereth: "Perhaps. But what Motura said earlier is true. If the Phage continues to mutate and form new resistances, it stands to reason it could impact other species as well. And I doubt members of your Federation would want to end up like us."
- Choice C
- Captain: "What are you going to do if we manage to stop the ship?"
- Motura: "We'll proceed with our original plan. Examining the new arrivals and treating them. Our new treatments have allowed us to retake what the Phage once took with us. We believe we can do that for the others as well. But I suppose we should have considered gentler methods."
- Motura: "We want to stop the warship in its tracks and proceed with examining, treating, and clearing the new arrivals, Captain. But we also cannot risk them reinfecting the rest of our people - or possibly introducing the Phage to others. Please stop that ship...whatever it takes."
Epilogue
- Motura: "Captain, we cannot thank you and the other members of Starfleet for your help. When other factions turned us away, you offered us your aid. And thank you for saving those aboard. We will get back to examining the new arrivals and deal with whoever overtook the ship."
- Concerning Flight Janeway: "All's well that ends well, I suppose. Being able to count on each other is vital in the vast reaches of space. Wouldn't you agree, Lieutenant Carey?"
- Acting Chief Engineer Joe Carey: "I suppose so. I suppose I owe you Vidiians an apology for my suspicions. We took readings from the ship once we caught up to it and...we detected external interference, specifically with the ship's controls. I don't think whoever stole this vessel was actually onboard..."
