Storyline
Announcement
Other timelines, other paths the Federation might have walked, hover over the galaxy in the wake of the temporal anomaly crisis. But there are some who see those darker timelines as guideposts rather than destinations to avoid.
When the USS Uhura goes missing from spacedock, Starfleet scrambles to recover her. But when a mini Collective of Borg Queens reveal they stole the ship, could it reveal a more devious role for the Uhura in the galaxy’s future?[1]
Prologue
- Farewell Rios: "Having so many show up here via temporal anomaly really puts things into perspective. We definitely have it better than some universes. And there are some versions of the timeline I get goosebumps just thinking about."
- 25th Century Q: "How very human of you. Locked solely in your own narrow view of things. Meanwhile, there are others who would benefit greatly from those darker timelines. it's that short-sightedness that threatens peace across the galaxy even now."
- 2024 Raffi: "What is it with you and speaking in riddles, Q? Would it kill you to just come out with what it is you want to say for once?"
- Displaced Elnor: "He would probably ask you where the fun in that was, if he wasn't already off torturing someone else. I suspect he means the USS Uhura, stolen from spacedock. No contact can be made and no one can determine who is piloting the ship. Captain, please help us stop that ship."
Intermission
- Borg Queen Jurati: "Stand down. This vessel is ours. We will reset this timeline to be as it should - a timeline where we oversee the galaxy. The Federation. The Dominion. The Klingon and Romulan Empires. All will be assimilated into one true Collective. Your resistance is futile-"
- 2024 Raffi: "The Borg Queenl? But...that can't really be Jurati, can it? She said her Collective was different. She wouldn't do something like steal the Uhura without a good reason, but everything stuff she's saying..."
- Borg Queen Seven: "l'm trying to make contact with her, but her voice is being drowned out. It isn'tjust her Collective. There are multiple Borg Queens connected to the Uhura. I'm having trouble maintaining my own individuality. Captain, try addressing them through me."
- Choice A
- Captain: "Where is Juratl?"
- Ubiquitous Borg Queen: "You needn't worry. She is here. However, her motivations did not align with ours. So lam afraid she will have to wait until we can engage her in a little reeducation regarding the Borg's mission. Until then, we cannot have her poisoning the greater Collective."
- Choice B
- Captain: "How did you manage to steal the USS Uhura from spacedock all alone?"
- La Sirena Borg Queen: "Captain, how many times must I tell you? When you're with the Borg, you're never alone. Also, you must speak with Starfleet about their numerous security flaws. We were not required to be anywhere near this ship, let alone on board- All it required was a few good connections."
- Choice C
- Captain: "What would the Borg want with one little starship?"
- Unimatrix Zero Borg Queen: "This one little starship, as it turns out, is the crux upon which the current timeline rests. What is it you humans call it? The 'Butterfly Effect'? What a quaint concept, and yet, how very apt."
- Borg Queen Seven: "There are so many of them...Borg Queens from different times, timelines, universes, Collectives - all attempting to seize control of the Uhura! You're going to have to shut down most of her systems to break their connection and retrieve the ship!"
Epilogue
- Seven In Command: "Nice work, Captain. You managed to sever the connection the Borg Queens had to the USS Uhura and we were able to recover her. She'll be spending a lot more time in spacedock than first planned, but at least we recovered her."
- 2024 Baffi: "I don't know what's weirder about this whole thing - the fact that a bunch of Borg Queens banded together and were able to steal a Starfleet ship through remote control, or the fact that this one ship might actually shift the timeline."
- Farewell Rios: "I think we all know by now, it doesn‘t take much. And it's going to be up to all of us when - or if — we ever get back to our own times to ensure we stay on the right path. Whatever that may be."
