Storyline
Announcement
Space-faring individuals all across the galaxy are waking up in different vessels, with different crews. It is soon revealed that the culprit is a bored Q, seeking to keep everyone on their toes. But between jammed navigational equipment and rekindled hostilities, this little staff swap might have more far-reaching implications than first thought![1]
Prologue
- Prisoner Spock: "Thank you for answering my hails, Captain. I am not sure what is happening. I fell asleep in a cell and awoke aboard this vessel with a species I am unfamiliar with, one obsessed with collecting other 'Enterprises'."
- Midwife Worf: "Pakleds. I hope patience is in abundance for you. I can't say I wanted to deliver a human child today, but it was preferable to a cell on a Hirogen ship.”
- Dahj On The Run: "It seems we've all been displaced, though it sounds like my situation is one of the better ones. This space station appears to be a long way from my pursuers. Maybe I can finally take a breath. But it sounds like you weren't affected, Captain."
- Prisoner Spock: "Indeed. Not only does it appear others have been displaced, but technology across the stars is malfunctioning as well. Someone wanted to uproot us all and make it hard to return to where we were. Captain, you may well be the only one who can find out who."
Epilogue
- Midwife Worf: "With all this widespread chaos and displacement, of course there's only one who could manage it. And I'm sure he's proud of himself, that smug--"
- Judge Q: "Thank you, Mister Worf. But I'm sure your genial bedside manner is needed elsewhere. Well now, are you all enjoying my little shake-up? You're all always so serious, I thought you could use a break from the usual."
- Prisoner Spock: "I am puzzled by the fact that you think anyone could enjoy this. Your 'switch-up', as you call it, places lives at risk, to say nothing to the disruption of day-to-day operations across the galaxy."
- Judge Q: "Typical stick-in-the-mud Vulcan. If any species could use a break, it's definitely yours. Well, if you insist at balking at my gift, I'm sure you'll figure out a way to overcome any technical issues and find your way home on your own then."
