Storyline
Announcement
Before the humans of Earth were able to travel the stars, they were just as fascinated with - and frightened by - the prospect of interstellar visitors to Earth. But in a time where interstellar flight is so commonplace, that fear does not exist…until a new wave of “alien abductions” begins on Earth! [1]
Prologue
- The President of Earth: "Citizens of Earth. I know this most recent wave of disappearances has caused a great deal of alarm, but I assure you, we are working around the clock to—-hey, wait, who are you? Unhand me! I'm just a--'
- Alandra La Forge: "And now he's gone too. I can't say I expected them to actually kidnap a hologram. I thought his idea to pretend to be someone in political power as bait was crazy. But it actually worked."
- Doctor Cochrane: "So it did. Then again, there is little logic in any of this. How these abductions are managed when Earth is so tightly patrolled, what their aim is -- even the individuals they target don't always make sense."
- Alandra La Forge: "I don't think we'll get any answers waiting around. Captain, sorry to throw you in with so little context, but a fleet of shipsjust left Earth's atmosphere. One of them has our holographic President. Can you track him down, rescue him, and find out who's behind this?"
Intermission
- Mirror Empress Sato: "Captain, you didn't really think you'd beat me that easily, did you? I may not be from this century, but brilliance of my caliber is timeless. Stand down and observe. Maybe you'll learn something."
- Alandra La Forge: "I can't say I expected the Terran Empire to be behind this. The Orions? Maybe. The Romulans? Probably. The Gorn? Definitely. But not the Terran Empire."
- Choice A
- Captain: "What are you after here, Empress Sato? Why abduct people from Earth?"
- Mirror Empress Seto: "Captain, have you not read your own mission briefing? I think it's pretty obvious. It won't take much to undermine the leadership on Earth, especially not once I've made a few adjustments. I think I can whip this little fake utOpia into something respectable."
- Choice B
- Captain: "How did you manage to get by Earth's defenses?"
- Mirror Empress Sato: "Captain, your Earth's defenses are nothing compared to what we dealt with in our universe. Of course, bringing a few of your Federation vessels along with me certainly didn't hurt."
- Choice C
- Captain: "How long until she realizes that really isn't the leader of Earth?"
- The President of Earth: "Captain, if you wish to challenge my legitimacy, I'd prefer you do so through the proper convoluted bureaucratic channels and not when I'm at risk of being tossed into the vacuum of space by this maniac!"
- Alandra La Forge: "We have our culprit now, Captain! All we need is to rescue the abductees!"
Epilogue
- The President of Earth: "Capital rescue effort, Captain! Say, have you considered a life in politics? I could use a sharp mind like yours in my cabinet-"
- Alandra La Forge: "I don't know if I would take that offer, Captain. Last time he played this character, his cabinet was Leonardo da Vinci, Stephen Hawking, and one of those twentieth century soap opera doctors. lt was...odd. Though, I guess not as odd as alien abductions in this day and age."
- Doctor Cochrane: "Indeed. At this point, we'rejust as 'alien' as anyone else in this universe - traveling freely throughout the galaxy and regularly interacting with new life. We are as open a book as the universe is to us."
