The Hysperian Space Faire is a chance, according to Queen Paolana, to celebrate their rich cultural heritage - and a chance for her to convince her son to return. But when the galaxy gets roped into this farce, will you be ready to play your part?

Ye Olde Space Opera was a Hybrid event which ran from 16:00 (UTC) Thursday, September 19, 2024 to 16:00 (UTC) on Monday, September 23, 2024.
The first phase functions as a Voyage Event, with players engaging in Voyages with occassional Voyage Encounters that will test proficiencies of the Voyage crew.
The second phase was in the form of a Skirmish Event.
This event offered a Special Pack with a guaranteed drop of event featured crew if you spend 650 
on the 10-pack pull.

Event Rewards
There are 4 sets of rewards given in the event.
- Solo Ranked Rewards which are given at the end of the event based on your rank in the overall event. These are the top-tier prizes.
- Solo Threshold Rewards which are acquired at each level of displayed Victory Points

- Squadron (Ranked) Rewards which are given at the end of the event based on your squadron's rank in the overall event.

Storyline
Announcement
Queen Paolana welcomes visitors from across the galaxy to be a part of the Hysperian Space Faire. Costumes not required but strongly encouraged. She insists that she merely wants to spread Hysperian culture and mirth, but the participants in her intergalactic tournament are finding the stakes may be higher than anticipated. Especially for Andy Billups. [1]
Prologue
- Queen Paolana: "Come one, come all, to the Hysperian Space Faire! I know you'll find our rich cultural heritage of mirth and mayhem lends itself nicely to a fair with something for everyone! I would like to extend a special invitation to the crew of the Cerritos and my dear son, Andarithio.‘
- Queen Paolana: ""We invite bold knights, daring damsels, andjollyjesters of all crests and creeds to compete in our intergalactic tournament, where the mightiest warrior will be offered anything they desire - especially if it's the hand of my son, Andarithio!"
- Prince Billups: "Mother! I told you! My home is here on the Cerritos, l have no interest in ascending the throne.- Ohh. She is not going to let this go. Captain, I need to ask you a favor. I can count on you, right? Think you can win this contest and pass on the whole marriage thing?"
- Wizard Hemmer: "It's going to be a bumpy ride. She has these matches and challenges set throughout the solar system and judging from the vague nature of the rules, I believe we can expect more than a few surprises. Take heed, Captain."
Intermission
- Queen Paolana: "Splendid, splendid! Well done, Captain! I suppose I shouldn't have underestimated you stodgy old Starfleet-types after all."
- Prince Billups: "Mother, could you please avoid embarrassing me in front of my colleagues for once? Though she isn't wrong. In all the tournaments and competitions I've been forced to sit through, you made this one to remember, Captain."
- Queen Paclana: "I'm glad to hear you say that, son. Thanks to the Captain's ability to put on such a good show, we've decided to extend our little event into a new phase."
- Choice A
- Captain: "What sort of new phase?"
- Queen Paolana: "Oh, don't sound so panicked. We'll stick to something a little more familiar to you. How about a series of grand duels between your vessel and several of our other challengers? I'm sure your ship can handle it, yes?"
- Choice B
- Captain: "I don't remember agreeing to any extra phase."
- Prince Billups: "You should probably reread that liability waiver she made you sign. I know, that parchment's a pain and most peoplejust rush through those things, but as I'm sure you've figured out by now, my mother has doublespeak and loopholes down to a science."
- Choice C
- Captain: "Only if someone will sing songs of my valiant deeds."
- Wizard Hemmer: "Leave it to me, Captain. Spock always was trying to get me to take up the lute and the Hysperians have been teaching me."
- Prince Billups: "I'm counting on you, Captain!"
Epilogue
- Prince Billups: "Captain! Thank you! Thank you! I knew you could, knew you would, do it! I owe you big time for this! Next time Captain Freeman gives me leave, any repairs or upgrades your ship needs are on Andy Billups!"
- Queen Paolana: "Volunteering to work on your leave!? When you could be seeing your dear mother! How have I gotten parenting so very wrong? And Captain, I do hope you'lljoin us for next year's faire - as a spectator, of course."
