Storyline
Announcement
The Enterprise-J, fresh from the original Battle of Procyon V, has appeared and its mysterious pilot is ready for a fight. But could this herald the beginning of something much bigger and more dangerous?[1]
Prologue
- Twilight Reed: "Captain, thank you for answering my hails. We're dealing with a rather strange assailant and could use your help here."
- EV Suit Tucker: "You got that right. That last blast did a number on our hull. I don't care if it is the J, it's still insane that one Enterprise could do that much damage to another. And then just slip away like that. We couldn't get a shot in on the sucker before he jumped to warp!"
- Twilight Reed: "As you heard, the Enterprise—J has made an appearance here. Our ships are just the newest in a long line of targets, Federation or otherwise. And there appears to be no rhyme or reason to which ships are attacked."
- EV Suit Tucker: "Yeah, you'd figure if someone stole that ship and wanted to make a dent in our forces, they'd be going after all the big guns. But it'll pick at a flagship one minute, a runabout the next, then completely skip other ships. Think you can try and catch 'em?‘
Intermission
- Disguised Daniels: "I suppose I can't keep trying to outrun you. You're every bit as capable as I've heard, Captain. I can promise you there is an explanation for this."
- EV Suit Tucker: "It better be a damn good explanation. After what you did to my ship? Why do you have the Enterprise-J? And why did you attack us? What'd we ever do to you!?"
- Twilight Reed: "Yes, you do have a rather odd way of saying hello after so long. I don't care if you're future Starfleet or a temporal agent or what - I can't imagine any possible justification for attacking us."
- Choice A
- Captain: "Good point. Why did you attack them?"
- Disguised Daniels: "I needed to know. I needed to see if all of the players are ready for what's to come. If you think the original Temporal Cold War wrought havoc on the timestream, you won't believe what's become of it now."
- Choice B
- Captain: "Why are you piloting the Enterprise-J?"
- Disguised Daniels: "This ship has an important history at the crux of the Temporal Cold War. Not only that, but since it's here in the present anyway, its technology will prove useful to you in the coming conflict."
- Choice C
- Captain: "I'm sorry. Who are you?"
- Disguised Daniels: "I suppose that's a question that depends most on when you're asking me. I've been a lot of people in a lot of different eras, including a 'crew member' aboard the NX-Oi."
- Disguised Daniels: "I know you all have a lot of questions. Your suspicions aren't unwarranted. I would like to explain further, but first, I need to know you're capable of withstanding the threat that is to come!"
Epilogue
- Disguised Daniels: "Well done, Captain. I'm heartened to see your skills in action. As promised, l owe you an explanation."
- Disguised Daniels: "The temporal anomaly crisis has already made a mess of the time stream as it is. We've been focusing our efforts nonstop on this time period to prevent irreversible damage to the time stream. But our preoccupation with the anomalies was a costly mistake."
- Disguised Daniels: "It would seem others from throughout the time stream are aware of the situation as well and have made their way here. After all, how convenient is it to have prominent figures from across time and space in one time period?"
- Disguised Daniels: "It would seem we're a step behind, as much as I hate to admit it. We'll need your help, Captain, as well as the full power of the Federation and her allies. One faction gaining control of the galaxy across time would be an unimaginable disaster."
