Constellation Class and Hero Ships in Timelines
Summary
- Ships have rooms, which in a lot of cases make ships unique
- Constellation class will be in the game
- Hero ships and ship classes are distinct, for example Picard's ready room is part of the Stargazer
- Filling up rooms provide bonuses and upgrading rooms means that players will do better in conflicts
- Ships such as the Enterprise NCC 1701 and NCC 1701-D have rooms associated with the captains of those ships, providing extra bonuses relating to what those captains are good at
- Ships can have different stats depending on whether they are hero ships or ship classes, what rooms have been upgraded and what crew are in those rooms
Speculation and Analysis
- Counters for three types of currency can be seen.
- It appears to be possible to chance the name of the ship
- On the USS Enterprise D, five rooms can be seen. It appears that each room contains positions that can be filled with crew members
- Picard's Ready Room
- Instigator
- Advisor
- Mediator
- Concilliator
- Decision Maker
- Bridge
- Conn
- Ops
- Counselor
- Tactical
- Captain's Chair
- Holodeck
- Sickbay
- Ten Forward
- Picard's Ready Room
- On the Constellation class, five rooms can also be seen
- Bridge
- Sickbay
- Main Engineering
- Weapons Systems
- Cargo Bay
- Loader
- Manifest
- Safety
- Accommodations
- Recovery
- It also appears that rooms can be upgraded, offering additional bonuses
- Several buttons can be seen
- 1: Likely a chat button
- 2: A PvP (Player v Player) button
- 3: A list, possibly a friends list, crew list or options menu
- 4: Possibly a wormhole for fast travel
- 5: Likely the Galaxy Map
- It appears that the current location is also shown. The upper name may refer to a star system, and the lower a specific planet
- Seven is shown in a battle station with the 'Ignore Irrelevancies' action

Allen White: Lead 3D artist
Tim Crosby: Lead Gameplay Designer
Allen: Welcome to another exciting dev talk here at Disruptor Beam, today we're talking about Star Trek Timelines. I'm Alen White, joining me today is Tim Crosby. Today we're going to talk about starships and a whole bunch of spoilers that we're not supposed to say that will probably get edited out. So I've been making ship models here for a while. I've noticed that I've had to make rooms for these ships, specific rooms, like Ten Forward, Kirk's quarters, et cetera, how do we get that list and what is that actually doing in the game?
Tim: Well the big thing with the starships having rooms is that starships are places where people live
Allen: Right, somebody has to fly
Tim: Somebody has to fly the ship which means that we need places for them to inhabit and in a lot of cases those specific areas are what make the starship unique. So one of the things we're revealing in this video is that the Constellation class ship is going to be in the game. One of the early ships for the player. Can you talk about making that ship making the art for that ship?
Allen: Sure. So the Constellation is a really cool looking ship, it's got the 4 nacelle set-up which is really neat, the saucer's not on top it's sort of in the middle of the configuration which is really interesting, cargo bays sort of around that, it just looks cool. The interesting thing about the Constellation is it went through a ton of permutations on the show, originally it was just Picard's desk model and they didn't have any other backstory and when they had to do the Stargazer episodes they were like "well we better come up with a thing", my favourite story related to that is that it didn't have a name so when they shot the episode Geordi says Constitution class, on film he says Constitution class but they don't know what the name is going to be so they came up with Constellation because they had to re-dub it and the word looks the same if you're trying to read his lips, which has led to me typoing Constition instead of Constalleation the entire process so the texture naming is terrible. So we've been talking a lot about rooms and Picard's ready room being a really cool part of the Stargazer verus the Constellation, is that something we're going to see all of the hero versions of these ships like the actual 1701 Enterprise and the 1701-D where specific characters not just traits are tied to room bonuses and actions?
Tim: Yeah absolutely the rooms are an important part of the starships they provide bonuses to the player filling up the room, upgrading the rooms in these means that you will do better in the conflicts and the challenges that you encounter in the game and each of the specific ships, so the 1701, and the D, they have rooms that are associated with the captains of those ships. They provide an extra bit of power in those challenging situations and an extra bit of power that is related to what those captains are good at. And then in addition to that the ships themselves have a slightly different set of stats around them they can end up in a slightly different place depending on whether, what room you've upgraded, what crew you've put in to those rooms and also whether it's the D veruss the galaxy class then putting the crew into the battle stations might have a slightly different effect. Battle stations...
