- Will be able to team up with friends, form fleets and take on big challenges through cooperation. [4]
- Because a player's crew might consist of characters with different views of right and wrong, there are different ways to resolve conflicts, which might bring players into dispute with captains from other timelines. [4]
- If players want Data and Spock on the same ship and want them to interact, they'll be able to do that. [6]

Missions
- Conversation choices made before going on a mission can affect the mission, for example agitating someone may make them wish to fight the player, leading to a combat mission [13]
- Missions can take place in space, aboard ships or on planets [20]
- The outcome of missions varies depending on the crew that are selected, and the steps that are taken along the way [21]
- For example if an away team utilising mostly combat oriented crew is used there may be a combat based resolution, which will be different to a diplomatic resolution, and this will affect the narrative [13]
- Completing conflicts will reward players with items, crew members and experience [17]
- Missions have a branching narrative, with multiple outcomes and replay value [17]
- A key part of Star Trek Timelines is fixing the distorted timelines that pop up across the galaxy [22]
- Conflicts begin with players selecting their crew [22]
- Looking at the mission path, players will need to evaluate who is best for the conflict E.g. Does the mission rely on the engineering division [22]
- Each character is proficient in at least one skill: Diplomacy, Science, Security, Command, Engineering and Medicine. [22]
- Skills can be improved by levelling up, and fusing characters with extra copies of themselves. Crew also have inherent abilities called traits. For example, Commander Worf has the Warrior trait. [22]
- Once they have been selected, the away team is sent to resolve the conflict. [22]
- In each conflict, the player is faced with choices, taking them down a different path and leading to different challenges. [22]
- Players may continue with the conflict even if they fail some challenges. However, they will fail the conflict if they fail to complete the last challenge. [22]
- To determine if they win a challenge or not, characters compete against that challenge's difficulty. This is where their skills and traits are used. [22]
- By completing conflicts, players can gain crew experience, credits, equipment, and many other items. Completing conflicts is a key way to improve crew in Star Trek Timelines. [22]

- Picard: Excels at diplomacy, and can convince enemies to lower their defences [11]
- Worf: Tactical specialist, can inflict heavy damage [11]
