Sorrytons refer to gifts that the game gives you as compensation in relation to some incident the game may have had that affected gameplay. The compensation comes in the form of Chronitons and a message in the player's inbox indicating some sort of apology. Hence the coining of the term "Sorrytons".

Greetings Captains,

Today "The Prime Directive" event launched with a bug that caused the game to crash while crafting items.

After the event launched, we discovered an unforeseen issue in our game engine. This issue was not present in our test environment, and only showed up after the event went live today. The bug is significant enough that we will pause this event, and re-run it after the bug can be fixed, at a later date.

The current event, Prime Directive, will be PAUSED, meaning that when the event re-starts at a future date, your progress WILL NOT BE LOST and you will be able to resume the event where you left off!
