It's clear that the fleet needs to know more about the subspace storms, so Chakotay offers to pilot a research shuttle close enough to research them. He requests your crew assist him since his attention will be on keeping the shuttle intact.
Your crew manages to gather excellent readings on the bizarre storms due to Chakotay's expert piloting. This research could lead to unlocking how to repair the anomalies.
Your crew manages to distract Chakotay at a crucial moment, and he loses control. A subspace eddy rips a hole in the life support system which forces an emergency abort of the mission.

Torres believes that she can manipulate the rescue fleet's shields so that they modulate to compensate for subspace friction. She insists that your crew help with the project's experiments.
After several trials, your crew discovers the correct shield frequencies which increase their resilience against the subspace storms. Shuttles can reach the surface of Trill with less damage now.
On its first live run, the experimental shields fail and the storms tear a hole in the test shuttle. Torres shuts down the project, declaring it a waste of time.

Tom Paris reports that repeated trips through the subspace storms are causing physical effects on the Maquis, such as hearing voices or seeing images that don't exist. He needs your medical crew to find a cure for these delusions.
Your crew isolates the area of the brain being disrupted by the subspace distortions and develops a new method of repairing the damage. By adapting helmets intended for away teams, rescue crews can avoid future cognitive damage.
The source of the hallucinations eludes your medical crew, despite extensive testing. Those afflicted have to be removed from duty rotation, further slowing down rescue efforts.

Hospitals on Trill are filling with people injured from the constant seismic ruptures. Physicians request you send down medical crews to assist with the sudden influx.
Your crew arrives with surplus medical equipment to support the Trill physicians. Many more injuries are repaired than would have been otherwise, improving their chances of being evacuated.
On the way to the planet, the medical transport strikes a subspace rift sending your crew light years away from Trill. It will take months to return and help the rescue effort.

During early encounters with the Federation, Xindi ships used subspace vortices to quickly travel around the galaxy. Your crew believes they could use this technology to bypass the subspace storms, but must convince the Xindi to give it to them.
Your crew convinces the Xindi of the pressing need for the subspace vortex engines, on the condition that only they are allowed to operate it, not the Maquis. Rescue efforts speed up drastically with the addition of the Xindi engineering.
The Xindi decline your crew's request for subspace vortex engines, citing unresolved tensions between them and the Federation.

Eddington admits to you that several Maquis cells live on Trill in order to spy on the Federation. He believes your crew can contact them to help coordinate the rescue effort.
Your crew gains the trust of the local Maquis and begin to synchronize their efforts for the rescue. With everyone following the same plan, more people are able to quickly evacuate from Trill.

Transport ships coming from the surface are showing more damage from the storms than expected. Tuvok believes your crew can devise a type of metal that will withstand damage in the right environment.
Your crew discovers a specific blend of metals that, when exposed to subspace radiation, actually begins to knit itself back together. Although there aren't enough resources to retrofit the fleet, several shuttles can benefit from the discovery.

The Maquis reports that one of their ships has gone missing in the chaos of the subspace storm. They request that your crew discover what became of it.
Your crew miraculously finds the lost ship with everyone aboard unharmed. The storm fried their navigation system, so a quick tow to safety with a tractor beam is appreciated.

Thomas Riker believes that the nearby Romulan fleet could be a threat if they find the source of the subspace storms before the Federation. He asks to join forces with your crew and help sabotage the Romulan investigation.
Your crew sneaks onto the lead Romulan vessel and deletes a trove of research they've gathered on the storms. Thomas Riker congratulates your crew on their stealth and suggests they could work more closely in the future.

Dense population centers on Trill are in significant danger as the planet tears apart. Community leaders ask your crew to guide people to safer locations where they can wait for evacuation.
Your crew performs surface scans of the area and discovers a region under significantly less seismic stress. They relocate the citizens of the endangered town just before a quake brings down several buildings.
Stubborn as usual, the Trill aren't convinced by your crew's pleas to leave the area. They firmly believe a solution to the chaos will soon be found and ask to be left alone

Torres plans to establish communications with Trill by launching buoys at precise locations within the subspace storms. She requests your crew's assistance, and insists that they follow her precise directions.

Your crew launches the buoys exactly where Torres mapped out so that they're perfectly aligned. For the first time since the storms emerged, Trill is able to communicate with the rest of the Federation.

Ro Laren reports that several Maquis refuse to help with the rescue effort. They claim that assisting the Federation would betray their succession efforts. She requests your help convincing the group that Trill's people depend on them.
Your crew shows sympathy for the Maquis plight and suggests that assisting the Federation in a moment of crisis can only create good will for their future efforts. Convinced by this perspective, the group lends their assistance.
Hoping to generate sympathy, your crew makes the mistake of referencing that the Maquis began as Federation colonies. The mention of old history triggers a loud argument, which leads to your people being asked to leave.

Tuvok reveals that, while undercover with the Maquis, he heard of an experimental ship named the "Wavecutter" that could easily navigate the Badlands. He suggests testing it on the subspace storms to help safely evacuate people on Trill.
Your crew retrieves the Wavecutter which easily lives up to its reputation. Flying through the subspace storms poses little danger to the ship. Its Maquis crew can begin safely shuttling people from the planet.

After several system failures across the Maquis fleet, Eddington discovers evidence that someone has committed intentional sabotage. He requests your assistance bringing the culprit to justice.

With your crew's help, Eddington finds evidence of Cardassian intrusion onto each of the affected ships. Instead of risking a violent incident by directly confronting them, Eddington steps up security to stop future saboteurs.

Maquis pilots are returning from Trill complaining that various Q are appearing on their ships to mock their efforts. They beg your crew to hunt down the Q responsible and demand they leave the fleet alone.

Your crew rides along several trips to Trill and strongly chastise any Q that appear as endangering the lives of an entire species. Eventually Q Junior appears to offer his apology and gives his word to reign in the others.
