The Augment Cure
AND
AND
OR
The Klingons' attempt at genetic engineering went horribly, resulting in the Augment virus and leading to the great enmity between the Klingons and the Augments today. The Augments hope to heal these wounds by showing the Klingons that they, too, can be enhanced safely. Assist the Augments in their research.
Eureka! Your away team and the Augments have created a new breed of super strong, super intelligent, super hardy Klingon, with every ridge in sight.
Your away team and the Augments have unfortunately failed again, creating a horrible new virus in which Klingon ridges spread over the face, eventually causing death.
The Bashir Factor
AND
Julian Bashir is an excellent example of human genetic enhancement without side effects. The Augments need his support, but it will only be gained through modification of Bashir's attitude. Help capture Bashir so Augment physicians may perform this "adjustment."
Your away team successfully captured a version of Julian Bashir and delivered him to the Augments. Now released, Bashir is publicly speaking out on the benefits of the Augments' genetic engineering procedures.
Your away team is identified trying to kidnap Julian Bashir. Only the actions of skilled diplomats on your crew save them from court-martial.
Becoming the Hunted
AND
OR
The Tosk were bred purely as prey for the Hunters--but what if the Tosk were genetically engineered to always outsmart their predators? Help Augment scientists turn the hunters into the hunted.
Though it proved difficult to capture a Tosk, once captured, the procedure was a success. Thanks to the Augments and your away team, the Hunters are now running FROM the Tosk, their former prey.
Your away team was unable to capture a single Tosk, and thus unable to attempt turning them from prey to predator via genetic enhancement.
Breaking the Cycle
OR
The Jem'Hadar are dependant on the Founders for the ketracel white they need to live. But the Augments have a plan to win their loyalty by genetically engineering this dependency out of the next generation. Convince the Jem'Hadar to hear the Augments out.
Your away team convinced a cautious few Jem'Hadar to undergo the Augments' procedures with excellent results. These Jem'Hadar are no longer addicted to ketracel white, and are spreading the news to others.
Your away team is unable to convince any Jem'Hadar to trust the Augments. In fact, the two groups nearly come to blows when the Jem'Hadar threaten to inform the founders of the treachery.
Darwin's Children
AND
The children spawned at Darwin Station are perfect Augment specimens, but their lethal antibodies caused the Federation to place them into quarantine until a cure could be found. The Augments plan to spring the children loose to join them—with your away team's help, of course.
Together, your away team and the Augments have freed the children of Darwin Station from quarantine. They now live among the Augments freely, though their contact with other species remains limited.
Even together, your away team and the Augments were unable to breach the quarantine. The children of Darwin Station remain prisoners, unable to truly connect with anyone outside their small group.
For Comparison's Sake
OR
AND
The Augments want to prove that despite the Eugenics Wars, they are the superior version of humanity. To do this, they need pre-twenty-first century unmodified humans, preferably as limited as possible. Your away team has been asked to find them.
Your away team has recovered Amelia Earhart, Lord Byron, and Mahatma Gandhi for the Augments, who are unimpressed, as they hoped to be.
Your away team is unable to locate any pre-twenty-first century unmodified humans for the Augments to compare themselves against. The Augments are unimpressed, in a bad way.
Genetic Weapons
OR
OR
Brunali Icheb was genetically engineered with a pathogen designed to destroy the Borg. This is precisely the kind of application the Augments ultimately desire, and they must have Icheb to study. A Starfleet away team might be able to convince-or force-the young man.
Your away team convinced Icheb that what his parents did to him will never be done to another child, only a willing adult. Thus, he agreed to be studied by the Augments.
Your away team was unable to convince a horrified Icheb that Augment children would not also unknowingly be used as a weapon as he was. He is being protected by Seven of Nine.
Man Versus Self
OR
Academics, physicians, and armchair philosophers debate: which is the best half of a hybrid? Or is the hybrid itself superior? The Augments have decided to find out via Klingons versus Humans versus the original hybrid, in the arena. Your away team must act as combatants.
Your way team was trounced in some matches and victorious in others, but accomplished its ultimate goal: helping the Augments determine the strongest version of a hybrid.
Your away team was easily defeated by the control group of humans. The Augments ban them from the arena in disgust.
Organic Enhancement
AND
As far as the Augments are concerned, the Suliban have perfected the art of genetic enhancement thanks to their mysterious benefactor. The Augments hope to make contact with this benefactor, with Starfleet's help.
Your away team has managed to make contact with the Suliban's mysterious benefactor, who has agreed to instruct the Augments on similar enhancements—in exchange for a future favor he declines to identify at this time.
Your away team has been unable to make contact with the Suliban Cabal's mysterious benefactor. Or perhaps they have--he just isn't listening.
Press-Ganged
AND
Genetic enhancement has been safe and legal on Denobula for centuries. The Augments desire the aid of Denobulan scientists, and they won't take no for an answer. A Starfleet away team could easily "escort" these scientists back to the Augments.
Your away team successfully captures and delivers several Denobulan scientists to an Augment facility, where they will carry out their research -- or else.
Your away team is identified trying to kidnap Denobulan scientists. Only the actions of skilled diplomats on your crew save them from court-martial.
