Diplomacy Security The rise of this new Klingon faction has made Gowron paranoid that every person he passes is a zealot. A security team will have to win his confidence before they can protect him. The away team endured a tense interview with Gowron as he questioned their loyalty and tested their strength in combat, but they finally convinced the former chancellor to accept their protection. Gowron rejected the away team's offer of protection, and when they followed him, he drew a knife, seein their actions as proof that they were zealots come to kidnap him.

Klingon Intelligence believes some of the zealots may be hiding out in the debris of Praxis, Qo'noS's former moon. Search the polluted remnants of Praxis for any unauthorized visitors. Lingering radiation from Praxis' destruction obstructed scans of its debris, but the away team led a thorough search. By the end, they had captured several dozen Klingon zealots hiding in the wreckage. Between low visibility, drifting crust fragments, and intense radiation, the away team could only search a small portion of Praxis's debris before they were forced to return to Qo'noS empty-handed.

He intends to surrender himself to the zealots, unless Starfleet can convince him he deserves his newfound life. The away team rekindled Mogh's pride in the life he once led, persuading him that he could regain that same honor by fighting for his people, not by slinking back to Gre'thor. Despite the away team's well-reasoned arguments, Mogh remains convinced that the most honorable thing he can do for his family is return to Gre'thor, should the zealots ever find it.

The High Council fears the zealots may go after one of the most famous long-lost Klingons among them: Emperor Kahless. Speak with the emperor's personal staff and make sure they are who they claim to be. The away team identified one of the emperor's newer guards as a member of the zealots. While he awaits trial in a Klingon court, Kahless' remaining guards have doubled their watch over the emperor. The away team pronounced all of Kahless's staff trustworthy, but the following day, two of his guards were caught attempting to drug the emperor's bloodwine. Kahless was not impressed by Starfleet's assistance.

Science The anomaly crisis has made it difficult to identify people from different timelines, yet the zealots have captured once-dead Klingons with unnerving accuracy. Develop a way to identify such people before they do. Comparing cellular kinetic profiles of hundreds of Klingons, the away team discovered a telltale variation in cell activity among Klingons who once met their end in the present timeline. This should help Starfleet keep the zealots' targets safe. After many grueling medical examinations and interviews, the away team can find no physical features to distinguish Klingons who once passed away in this timeline from those who have always remained.

The Klingon zealots' search for Gre'thor may make it easier to predict their movements. Starfleet Command has ordered round-the-clock surveillance of the ancient ruins of Qam-Chee, which are sure to attract attention. The ruins of Qam-Chee proved too vast to surround, so the away team established hidden viewing feeds at historical locations throughout the city. The footage led them right to a Gre'thor search party. The away team arranged as many patrols of Qam-Chee as they could, but a Gre'thor search party still managed to slip through the cracks and steal a historical scroll from one of the city's libraries.

Medicine Security Much as he once promoted peace between the Klingon Empire and the Federation, Gorkon has encouraged a ceasefire between the zealots and their fellow Klingons. See that he is protected during negotiations. The away team uses a body double to lure Gorkon's would-be kidnappers out of hiding during ceasefire negotiations. With the help of the guard-turned-body-double, they quickly apprehended the kidnappers. The away team only caught a group of kidnappers as they were leaving Gorkon's quarters with him in tow. Though they were able to save Gorkon's life, the Klingon High Council called off the ceasefire he had worked so hard to establish.

Knowing how she met her end in this timeline, Ambassador K'Ehleyr is confident the zealots will come after her. She wants an away team to help her set a trap for them when they arrive. At the away team's suggestion, K'Ehleyr begins going for nightly strolls through the Old Quarter of the First City. The security team tailing her apprehends several zealots trying to do the same. After setting up the first phase of their plan, the away team went looking for K'Ehleyr only to find her missing, taken by the zealots in their absence. They left no sign as to where they took her.

Command Diplomacy Worf has recognized one of the zealots as Divok, a Klingon who once sought visions of Kahless. Believing Divok to be a man of principle, Worf wants an away team to persuade him to forget the search for Gre'thor. The away team appealed to Divok's faith, explaining the grim fate his brothers-in-arms have for Kahless, whom he still reveres. Though still convinced that Gre'thor is real, he has since denounced the zealots' plans. The away team sent a carefully worded invitation to Divok's home but received no reply, and no chance for a meeting. Worf has resigned himself to the fact that Divok is still loyal to the zealots.

Dahar Master Kor defeated all ten zealots who were sent to capture him, but now that the dust has settled, he can barely stand. Heal this warrior's wounds before he finds himself back in the Klingon afterlife. Between the away team's surgical expertise and Kor's stubbornness, he survived his brush with death. As soon as they released Kor from sickbay, he set off to practice bat'leth exercises for the next group of zealots that come his way. The away team struggled to keep Kor alive during surgery, but in the end, his warrior's heart gave out. The zealots claim he is now back in Gre'thor where he belongs.

Security Kortar, the first Klingon, has returned to Qo'noS. He claims he remembers nothing of his time on the Barge of the Dead, but written accounts of his history may help, if you can recover them from the zealots. Searching through ancient Klingon databases, the away team pinpoints scrolls concerning Kortar and retrieves them from under the zealots' noses. The more of them Kortar reads, the more details he remembers about Gre'thor. The away team found references to relevant mythological scrolls, but they are in a library controlled by the zealots. With no way to gain access to them, Kortar's memory of the Barge of the Dead remains blank.

Engineering Science The Vhnori's death rituals transport their dead via subspace vacuoles to a place they once believed to be their afterlife. Study these vacuoles to learn if such a phenomenon could ever lead to Gre'thor. The away team confirms that none of the vacuoles on the Vhnori homeworld connect to Gre'thor. However, given their unique transdimensional properties, a similar vacuole located elsewhere could form the entrance to Gre'thor. The away team studies dozens of vacuoles across the Vhnori homeworld, but they cannot say for certain whether all lead to the same location, or whether one or two may lead elsewhere, even to Gre'thor.

Koroth once arranged for Kahless's return on Boreth, but now he seeks Gre'thor with the zealots. His knowledge of Klingon history and religion could be invaluable, if you can remind him of his loyalties. The away team's studies of Klingon tradition gave them the right words to shake Koroth's faith in the zealots. He still dreams of seeing Gre'thor in this lifetime, but he will help the Empire, not its enemies, find it. The away team argues themselves hoarse, but they could not persuade Koroth to abandon the zealots' cause. With him on their side, they have a good chance of finding Gre'thor before the Empire does.

Find B'Elanna and learn what you can about her close brush with Gre'thor. The away team tracks B'Elanna to an orphanage where they find her defending its residents from a group of zealots. Once they help drive off the zealots, B'Elanna promises to share everything she remembers about Gre'thor. B'Elanna's recently recorded movements within the First City are erratic, and the away team cannot predict where she might have gone. Starfleet will continue its search for her, but for now she remains in the wind.

Many stories of Gre'thor tell of its jagged walls and the dark, barren landscape that surrounds it. It might be possible to adapt a ship's planetary scans to search for worlds matching that description. After boosting their ship's sensor resolution, the away team programmed its computer to report any planets with terrain matching Gre'thor's unique parameters. Now it's a matter of searching for the right results. The away team's planet scanning algorithm led to dozens of false positives. They will need to refine their search parameters to have any hope of locating Gre'thor.

Thanks to the away team's help, K'mtar captured several zealots in an ambush. The away team's probing questions infuriated one of the zealots enough that, while trying to insult his captors, he gave away some intel they had gathered on Gre'thor. DIALOGUE FAIL

Command Diplomacy Some Klingon priests have theorized that the "blood-red waters" surrounding the Barge of the Dead could refer to a nebula or anomaly housing the entrance to Gre'thor. Search nearby sectors for places that fit the myth. The away team's research led them not to a nebula, but to an asteroid field made up of an unusual, blood-red mineral. The Klingon Empire will focus its search on the star systems the field covers. The away team poured {sic} over dozens of stories about the Barge of the Dead, but even though all were consistent in their descriptions of the barge's path, they did not lead the away team to any physical location.

In the Boreth monastery, many Klingons fast and pray to seek visions of Kahless. If an away team can readily induce the same mental state, their Klingon allies can seek visions of Gre'thor's location. Through exercise and mind relaxants, the away team managed to induce a state of lucid, wakeful dreaming. None of their patients have glimpsed Gre'thor yet, but several have had visions of the Barge of the Dead. The away team's attempt to medically induce visions left their patients exhausted and their minds clouded. They will have to seek signs of Gre'thor via more traditional means.

A Klingon captain reported that his crew was attacked by Fek'lhr while surveying a potential colony site. Visit the site and determine whether they truly encountered the guardian of Gre'thor. Gathering blood and fur samples from the area where the crew was attacked, the away team identified their attacker as a large, bipedal mammal native to the planet. It is no Fek'lhr, but it is still a fearsomely powerful creature. From the Klingon crew's testimony and the large footprints in the area of the struggle, it is clear that they were attacked by a massive beast, but the away team could not track it down to identify it.

Diplomacy Kohlar's search for the kuvah'magh led him to a collection of ancient texts, some of which may contain stories of Gre'thor. They are in a dialect too old for him to translate, but perhaps a Starfleet team will prevail. Comparing Kohlar's scrolls to other records from the same era, the away team completed a passable translation of the text. Its descriptions of Gre'thor and the fate awaiting those sent there are more detailed any Kohlar has ever seen. Your away team was only able to translate a few words from the scrolls Kohlar found, and even those translations are approximate at best. They will have to search for newer accounts of Klingon myths.
