The Cryostasis Vault was introduced in August 2016. It is intended for crew members that the player wants to keep but aren't currently in use.[1]

The Cryostasis Vault shows all of the crew you currently own and is a place where you can "freeze" immortalized crew (crew who are level 100, fully fused and fully equipped).[2]

You're able to re-add frozen (dismissed) immortalized crew from the Vault to an open space in your Crew Quarters for a fee.

Currently, the costs to re-add a dismissed immortalized crew during a 24 hour period are as follows:

# of Crew Cost per day
1st 100 Merit
2nd 150 Merit
3rd 200 Merit
4th+ 300 Merit

The timer resets each day at Noon EST (17.00 UTC).

History

Version 1.3.2

The Cryostasis Vault was released.[3][4]

The currency used to move crew out of the Cryostasis Vault are Merits (and Dilithium), more specifically:[5]

The costs to re-add a dismissed immortalized crew from the Vault during a 24 hour period are as follows:

# of Crew Cost per day
1st 200 Merit
2+ 150 Dilithium

The timer resets each day at Noon EST (17.00 UTC).

A difficulty during conceptualization and development of the Cryostasis Vault is that it must not impact on performance too much.[6]
