Several of the engineering malfunctions have been traced to security vulnerabilities throughout Starfleet vessels. Chief O'Brien asks your away team to help him address them.
Evaluating the different vulnerabilities, your away team is able to address them and share how they handled each issue with Chief O'Brien.
Your away team is unable to address the security flaws.

Several Starfleet ships have been updated with a new self-repair protocol, but instead of freeing up engineering to handle more intensive tasks, the "repairs" instead create brand new problems. Investigate.
Looking into the new protocols, your away team finds several errors and incompatibility issues. After addressing these issues, the repair protocols begin to work as intended.
The "repairs" continue to make things worse.

With how overworked engineers across Starfleet are, they are left little time for training up and coming ensigns. But if they could train those ensigns, they might have more hands to help with all the issues. Your team is asked to help.
Your away team travels to some of the hardest hit ships to help train several ensigns. The ensigns pick up the training quickly and are able to take some of the burden off of the engineers.
Your away team is unable to find a solution.

Communication systems are knocked out across the Federation. Your away team is sent to the first ship to experience the problem to investigate.
While reviewing logs and readings from the ship, you find a communication sent during a plasma storm caused a surge that rippled throughout comms systems fleetwide. Adjusting frequencies and sending another communication seems to do the trick.
Your away team is unable to determine a cause.

Q decides Starfleet engineers could use a little history education and regresses the technology for several modern Starfleet vessels by at least a century. He also cuts off communication with other ships to increase the challenge. Assist these crews.
Much to Q's displeasure, your away team is quickly able to get the engineers up to speed, though many of them have a preexisting appreciation for older technology of their own.
Your away team is unable to be of much help.

The Voyager crew notice a Borg cube is stalled out and exhibiting odd behaviors. On closer inspection, they realize something is happening with the power inside the cube. Captain Janeway asks for your help.
Taking extra precautions before boarding and observing some information regarding the structure of the cube, your away team is able to help the Borg identify and repair the issues.
While trying to assist, you end up causing power to go out throughout the cube.

Something strange is happening on nearby Borg vessels. Certain functions are being completed despite the presence of the requisite drone. Though appreciative of the efficiency, the Borg Queen is suspicious and asks you to investigate.
Your away team finds that someone has overridden the security for certain Borg vessels and recorded the drones' various inputs for later use. You help the Borg upgrade their security and resolve the issue.
While investigating, security systems are activated and the Queen turns her suspicions on you.

The Borg Queen contacts you to ask for your help. Certain nearby drones are acting abnormally. She is having trouble staying connected to them, but they haven't completely disconnected either. Investigate.
Your away team investigates. Though unable to get much from the impacted Borg, they track nearby irregularities and find a damaged vinculum from a dilapidated Borg cube still putting out signals. Deactivating the vinculum resolves the issues.
A member of your away team surprises one of the impacted drones and is thrown against a wall.
