Security Security Odo was writing a Cardassian enigma tale for the Games, but rereading his own files gave him a lead on an old closed case. Apprehend all six of the guilty suspects and give this real-life tale a just ending. The away team's coordinated strike lets them apprehend all six suspects before any of them can warn the others. Excited by closing the case, Odo is able to complete his enigma tale just in time for the Games. The away team is able to catch two of Odo's suspects, but the others realize they're in danger and flee. Odo has to set his enigma tale aside as he gets to work tracking down the escaped criminals.
Fact-finder Command Medicine Diplomacy Engineering Science Although more confident than he once was, Reginald Barclay is nervous about entering his novelization of Voyager's adventures in the Isthmian Games. He'll only submit it if a team of experts checks his facts. The away team thoroughly studies Barclay's compelling account of Voyager's journey. When they point out a few continuity errors, he gratefully corrects them before submitting his novel to the Isthmian Games. The away team merely skims Barclay's account of Voyager and can't find any errors. Worried that they must be lying to spare his feelings, Barclay insists on redoing the novel rather than submitting it to the Games.

Security Diplomacy Although Voyager's EMH had to revise his first holonovel, its words encouraged other Starfleet holograms to create works of their own. Protect these holograms' creative rights as they get their work published. Using the precedent of the EMH's own holonovel, the away team argues that all holograms have rights to any creative work they create. These proud new holographic authors are welcomed at the Isthmian Games. Voyager's EMH was granted creative rights over his holonovel but the away team can't convince other publishers to comply with this ruling. Many of the other holograms' works are published without their consent.

The "muse" Onaya inspires those she chooses while draining them of life. If the away team finds an alternate energy source for her, perhaps she can help some writers with their writers' block without killing them. The away team sets up noninvasive neural scans of writers and transmits the results to Onaya. This diluted taste of creative minds at work is enough to sustain her while she safely inspires the writers' work. The away team tries different methods of feeding Onaya psionic energy, but none are as satiating for her as draining creative minds. The team has to restrain her when she lunges hungrily at a passing writer.

Tuvok and Tom Paris's holonovel about a Maquis mutiny on Voyager is gripping, but deadly. Adjust the novel's safety protocols to make it suitable for judges to experience at the Isthmian Games. The away team's modifications make sure that every phaser in the holonovel can only stun, and that there are five backups of the exit protocols. The novel can now be submitted to the Games without any casualties. The away team is unable to set up sufficient safety protocols without altering the plot of the holonovel. Tuvok and Paris begin arguing over how to incorporate the changes, and refuse to submit the novel at all.

Diplomacy Command Security Inspired by his brush with time travel, Samuel Clemens is writing an inversion of one of his stories, about a man from the past thrown into the future. He'll need a tour of the quadrant if he is to do this era justice. The away team takes Clemens on the perfect tour of Alpha Quadrant highlights, answering his thoughtful questions about space travel and modern life. He leaves confident that he'll have a good story for the Games. The away team leads Clemens on a tour of the quadrant that, though exciting, leaves him too exhausted and overwhelmed to get any writing done. He may not be have an entry ready for the Games after all.

Inspired by B'Elanna Torres, the poet Kelis's words prevented a war on his world. Now another war is brewing, and Kelis will not attend the Games unless you help him write another play to stop it. Using stories from their own travels, the away team writes a tale of compassion in the face of chaos. Kelis's people heed the play's peaceful message, and, his work done, Kelis is free to attend the Games. The away team's dialogue is stilted and their plots nonsensical. Kelis's actors refuse to put on the play, and Kelis himself refuses to leave his homeworld in its time of need as war draws ever nearer.

Russell's poignant stories would be welcome in the Games, if you can use Sisko's memories to construct a hologram of him. Some of Sisko's memories are hazy, but the away team gets enough data to construct a hologram of Russell. Overjoyed to find himself on Deep Space 9, he is excited to write a story for the Isthmian Games. Although Sisko has some vivid memories of being Benny Russell, many of them are scattered and hazy. The away team's hologram is only a shallow facsimile of the writer, not anywhere close to the real thing.

Protect Marritza until this important work can be entered in the Games. The away team keeps Marritza safe from the Obsidian Order's attempts on his life, including a subtly-poisoned bowl of soup. He finishes his history and makes an important entry to the Isthmian Games. The away team can barely fend off the Obsidian Order's relentless attempts on Marritza's life. They keep the clerk alive, but his near-death experiences make it hard for him to focus, and his history remains unfinished.

Melanie always wanted to be a writer like Jake Sisko, but she's struggling to edit her entry for the Isthmian Games. A temporal loop could give her the extra time she needs, if you can find and safely stabilize one. The away team uses chroniton particles to stabilize a temporal loop that rewinds every fifteen minutes. After enough cycles through the loop, Melanie steps out confident that her story is perfectly polished. The away team finds a way to stabilize a short temporal loop, but they can't figure out how to safely get Melanie out of the loop once she steps inside. She'll be lucky if she can finish editing her story in time.

Alter their outgoing messages so their money goes to sponsoring Harry Kim and the Kimtones rather than the Orion Syndicate. The away team makes it look like a computer error hired Harry Kim and the Kimtones rather than several Orion slave girls. When the Kimtones perform, though, the Traditionalists are reluctantly impressed. The away team's efforts to alter the Traditionalists' messages are spotted by the one of the Ferengi, who fixes the "error." The Traditionalists will still be hiring dancers from the unethical Orion Syndicate.

The away team's cost-saving arguments are music to the ears of the Traditionalists, who agree to sponser Beverly's entry to the Games if she'll monitor the health of their other participants. She eagerly accepts. The away team tries to tell the Traditionalists that hiring a doctor now will save them money later, but it's the spending money now part that proves to be a sticking point. Unable to see any profit in it, they refuse.

Uhura has asked some talented female Ferengi to join her fan dance routine, but the Traditionalists refuse to pay for their costumes, which are considered clothing. The Traditionalists grumble about it, but are relieved that they didn't have to pay for such "clothing" themselves. The away team tries to replicate Uhura's dance costume for the Ferengi females, but can't get the feathers just right. Having been promised clothing, the females withdraw from the Games when it is not forthcoming.

Medicine The Traditionalists are skeptical about letting Klingon opera performers provide music for their dancers, but there's a chance those operatic ululations have health benefits for Ferengi ears. See if you can find them. Bioscans on Ferengi listening to Klingon opera reveal that after sufficient exposure, the music improves heart rate and blood flow. The Traditionalists agree to host an opera as long as they can sell recordings of it. The away team has a hard time finding Ferengi willing to listen to Klingon opera as part of their study. The only health effect it seems to have is making the Ferengi very grumpy.

Persuade the Ferengi that sponsoring a "rare" Vulcan dance troupe will bring in plenty of profit. When the away team asks the Ferengi if they've ever seen a Vulcan dance, they have to admit that it must be a rare sight indeed. They rush to sponsor an elegant Vulcan dance troupe for the Isthmian Games. Although the away team argues that a dancing Vulcan is a rare sight, the Traditionalists don't agree that it's a valuable one. Convinced it would be a dull, scientific performance, they won't sponsor any Vulcans.

The Traditionalists might be willing to buy it for their newer dancers, if you can demonstrate that the lessons work. After just five steps of Data's lesson plan, the away team performs a dazzling waltz. Data is happy to offer such talented students a discount on the rest of the lesson plan, which the Traditionalists accept. After a few lessons with Data, the away team stumbles and staggers through an underwhelming dance performance. The Traditionalists decide to hold on to their latinum rather than spend it on Data's lesson plan.

"Sonny" Clemonds could teach the Ferengi about the profits of 20th century record deals and toe-tapping beats, if you can keep him healthy enough to attend the meeting. The away team treats Clemonds for liver damage that has occurred since his revival, and introduces him to sythehol. His talk of lucrative record deals encourages Ferengi investment in both music and dance halls. The same liver and kidney damage that led to Clemonds being cryogenically frozen has worsened since he gained access to replicated drinks. The away team can't treat him in time for his meeting with the Ferengi.

Some Traditionalists worry that music has a limited market. Prove that the probe whose whale song transmissions once threatened the Federation can be used for both profitable terraforming and accompaniment. The away team insulates the probe while using its whale song transmissions to ionize atmospheres and create storm clouds. The Traditionalists love the idea that they can sell music to scientists and dancers alike. While the probe's whale song has undeniable effects on planetary atmospheres, the away team can't prevent it from draining power from any vessels or outposts in the vicinity. The Traditionalists are unimpressed.

Offer Garak a facial reconstruction so he can play the part anonymously. Garak refuses to admit that he is anything but a tailor, but he does like the idea of starring in a full-blooded Klingon drama. The away team disguises him as a Klingon for the role, and he performs under a pseudonym. Garak sees the away team's offer as proof that his performance has slipped—otherwise they would consider him a real tailor. Rather than join the Klingon play, he retreats to his shop to work on a new cover identity.

Encouraged by their feedback, he agrees to play a large role in a production for the Isthmian Games. The away team's vague criticisms of Picard's role aren't constructive at all. Discouraged by their suggestions, Picard decides it would be best for him to sit out the Games rather than attempt another role.

The Tamarians communicate via metaphors from their ancient myths. These myths would make a compelling play, but before the Tamarians can perform, both actors and audience will need working translators. The away team analyzes hundreds of Tamarian stories, including that of Picard and Dathon at El-Adrel. In the end, they have a remarkably comprehensive translator that will make the Tamarian play understandable. The away team makes sense of a few Tamarian myths, but they soon become lost in the many different metaphorical possibilities of each tale. Without a working translator, the Tamarians are unable to perform.

Write a one-man show worthy of his talent (and ego). The away team writes a show based on the life and times of...Q. Their adaptation has him playing himself and the many beings he's interfered with over the years. His scenes as Picard are the talk of the Games. The away team's one-man show is technically difficult, but, in Q's own words, "boring." Although only a Q could perform the show's multiple roles at once, this Q decides he has much more entertaining things to do.

The grateful crew adjusts the lighting so it can be performed harmlessly. During a dress rehearsal, the away team observes heightened paranoia among the audience but cannot pinpoint the cause. Afraid that the anaphasic lifeform which once haunted her family is responsible, she's asked you to find an explanation for the mishaps.
