A member of your away team overhears a hushed conversation at a bar suggesting a member of the new Syndicate may be on the verge of betraying their new comrades to get into the main Syndicate. Investigate.
Your away team follows up on the lead and interrupts what may have been a double ambush, as the Orions planning to ambush a new Syndicate hideout may have been on the verge of being overcome themselves. You break up what could have been a bloodbath.
Your away team follows the new Syndicate member — and ends up getting ambushed by other new Syndicate members!

The best customers of several Ferengi businesses have begun insisting they have a new supplier. Leeta suspects the new Syndicate may be stealing customers and enlists your away team to put a stop to it.
Winning the customers back on good will alone isn't working. You convince the Ferengi business owners to give a discount, however slight, while also starting a rumor about the quality of the new Syndicate's goods.
Your away team confronts former customers of a Ferengi business owner - in front of the new Syndicate merchant they've been patronizing, who doesn't take kindly to you "stealing business".

Rom thinks that, if the original Syndicate can be convinced to reevaluate their profit-sharing margins, they might just be able to avoid losing more potential recruits to the Syndicate. The arduous task of convincing them, however, falls to you.
Your away team manages to convince the Syndicate to provisionally alter their profit-sharing margins, even if they insist to you that they do mean provisional.
The Syndicate members you speak with are insulted by your proposal and chase you off immediately.

Quark calls you in a panic - a bar run by a suspected new Syndicate member has filed a request for a business license aboard Deep Space Nine! And Kira is actually considering it. He asks you to dig up some dirt on the business.
Your away team investigates and manages to find that the beverages the proprietor intends to serve do not meet most galactic food safety standards. You pass this information on to Kira, who denies the application.
While investigating, you are confronted by the would—be proprietor, who insists your bias reflects poorly on the Federation and insists they will not remain quiet on the matter.

You receive a panicked distress call from Tendi. While she was investigating the new Syndicate from the inside, her cover was blown and it was revealed she was in Starfleet. Rescue her before the new Syndicate punishes her disloyalty, permanently.
Your away team manages to coordinate with Tendi through encrypted communications and tracking devices. You get close enough to the ship to beam her board your shuttle just in time!
You lose contact with Tendi. When you confront the Syndicate vessel she was on, they fire on you with surprisingly powerful weaponry, damaging your shields and forcing you to retreat

There are several from across the galaxy who insist the Federation should just leave the two Syndicates be. Let them fight it out. But Grand Nagus Rom is insistent this would be bad for everyone. He asks your help in convincing the naysayers.
Your away team presents existing situations as well as many possible scenarios in which leaving the two Syndicates to their own devices would be incredibly dangerous. You manage to convince many of the naysayers.
Your away team has no luck convincing the reluctant naysayers.

You receive a communication from a scrambled source. It is Mesk, stating he joined the new Syndicate to take his rightful place as an Orion, and to show his loyalty, he announces he's already stolen cargo from your ship. Try to catch him if you can!
Your engineers track the source of his transmission - to a computer in a maintenance hallway, where he's also hoarding a pile of
equipment. Cornered, he changes his tune, insisting he was only trying to suss out the real new Syndicate.
Your away team is unable to find him before a shuttle is detected departing your ship.
