With no memories to guide him, the Xindi-Reptilian commander Dolim has been taken in by mercenaries impressed by his strength. Reunite Dolim with his people before these mercenaries turn him against them. The away team captured the mercenaries, including Dolim, just before they raided a Xindi-Insectoid settlement. When told who he truly was, Dolim offered to make reparations to his people's Insectoid allies. By the time the away team caught up with Dolim, his mercenary band had raided many settlements, including Xindi ones. Eager for more power, Dolim would not listen to a word about who he truly was.

Security A former Romulan senator, now missing his memories, has been captured by rivals who believe he is hiding political secrets under the guise of amnesia. Rescue the senator before he loses more than his memories. The away team tracked the former senator to a hidden base on Remus, disarming his captors before they could pry into his already dazed mind. Starfleet doctors are doing what they can for the senator. The away team could find no clues as to where the senator's captors took him. The efficiency of the kidnapping suggests Tal Shiar involvement; they would certainly have the tools to peer into his mind.

Diplomacy When an amnesiac Quark appeared on a pre-warp planet, its people saw his business acumen as divinely inspired, and who was he to contradict them? Bring him to Starfleet before he disrupts their civilization further. The away team told Quark that, before losing his memories, he had left large sum of latinum with Starfleet Security. He eagerly followed them to retrieve it and was taken into Starfleet custody. When the away team explained that Quark did not belong on the planet, the idea of being a bartender rather than a demigod sent him into an existential crisis. He had his followers to throw the away team out.

Starfleet has received reports of influential figures arriving in the present without their memories, then vanishing by the time Starfleet ships arrived. Find out what has happened to these missing individuals. The away team deduced that every missing person vanished after a Zibalian ship visited them. Its captain was hiring these famous individuals to work as his servants, keeping them ignorant of their identities–something Starfleet quickly rectified. The away team confirmed the disappearances of every influential amnesiac person on Starfleet's list, but could find no trace of where they may have gone–or been taken.

An away team may be able to update their programs to explain the situation. The away team could not find memory files for all the confused holograms, but they gave each one a degree of self-awareness. Now knowing they need holoemitters to exist, most are happy to stay on the holodecks. DIALOGUE FAIL

Security Diplomacy The inveterate con artist Harry Mudd has been charming his way into the good graces of people with no memories and taking all he can from their wallets. Arrest Mudd before he finds another unsuspecting target. The away team donned wealthy disguises and pretended to be suffering from amnesia, drawing Mudd to their side within minutes. His "earnings" have been sent to their rightful owners, and Mudd has been sent to a penal colony. The away team's investigation must have tipped off one of Mudd's allies. They found a ship he had been using as his base of operations, but it was empty except for a glass of wine and a note bidding the team farewell.

Science Sir Isaac Newton has appeared on present-day Earth, but Starfleet is uncertain whether his confusion is due to memory loss or overwhelming culture shock. Have an away team assess Newton's mental state. Newton told the away team his name, but they confirmed that he has no recollection of his past. When they presented him with a challenging physics problem, however, he solved it in moments. His intellect, if not his memory, is still intact. The away team confirmed that Newton, unlike many other new time travelers, knows his own name, but when asked where he came from, he was unable to answer. He will need further observation from Starfleet Medical.

Starfleet has given an away team use of every holodeck on a starbase in the hopes that reliving history will restore lost memories. Construct personalized holoprograms from Starfleet's records on amnesiac patients. The away team constructed a holoprogram template to search personal and historical records of their patients and recreate scenes from their lives. The first few to visit the holodecks report that many of the scenes looked familiar. It took the away team days to create a holoprogram tailored to as single patient's life. The experience did jog some of the patient's memories, but it will take a long time to construct such programs for everyone affected.

Command Security A younger version of Odo has appeared with no memories of his time on Bajor or Deep Space 9. The Founders are already searching for him, eager to bring this Odo into the fold, unless Starfleet can protect him. The away team located a disoriented young Odo and persuaded him to come to Starfleet Headquarters. Starfleet will give him room to make memories of his own, beholden to neither scientists nor the Founders. The away team finally tracked down this new version of Odo only to see a Jem'Hadar fighter carrying him away at high warp. The Founders will surely raise him to be loyal to the Dominion above all else.

Engineering Starfleet cannot identify some of the many new arrivals missing their memories. With its view of past, present, and future, the Guardian of Forever may know who they are, but it currently lies dormant. The away team discovered a small temporal rift over the Guardian's planet. Once they successfully closed it, the Guardian awoke, and willingly helped them identify as many amnesiac individuals as it could. None of the away team's questions could awaken the Guardian of Forever. Whatever it knows of the unidentified individuals stranded in this time remains a mystery.

B-4's positronic brain would allow him to back up his memories before venturing into one of the amnesia-inducing temporal anomalies. Ensure that his memories are safe and prepare him for the mission. The away team created multiple copies of B-4's memories and basic programming, allowing them to restore him when he emerged from the anomaly with no idea who he was, and only a short memory of what he had seen. The backup process went relatively smoothly, but the away team could not comfort B-4's fears about his mission and what he might find on the other side of the anomaly. He ultimately refused to go through with it.

A few Vulcans are willing to attempt mind melds to restore patients' memories, but first, Starfleet must screen their potential patients for neurological conditions that could harm the Vulcan volunteers. The away team found several patients whose unstable brain waves would have made mind melding risky. The remaining patients have had several sessions with Vulcan melders, and are slowly regaining their identities. The away team cleared all their patients for mind melding, unable to identify the heightened emotional states that would after send three patients, and the Vulcans working with them, into a state of shock.

Science Starfleet has located a relatively stable new anomaly. They want to determine whether patients' memories could be trapped inside these anomalies as neural energy, but such measurements will be difficult to acquire. After hours deciphering scans of the anomaly, the away team found no traces of neural energy inside it. They did find, however, that its specific pattern of chroniton flux could interfere with most humanoid brain waves. The away team's scans of the anomaly were inconclusive, muddled by the massive chroniton flux it produced. If the memories of amnesiac patients are somehow trapped inside, they have no way of finding them.

Medicine Many telepathic Ullians have offered to help those who lost their memories to this new form of anomaly. Keep their patients' synaptic patterns stable as the Ullians search for their missing memories. The Ullians only restored a few memories in their early patients, but thanks to the away team's neurological analysis of the procedure, they have an idea of how to restore more in the future. The Ullians' memory retrieval efforts accidentally sent one of their early patients into shock. With no idea how to protect future patients from the same reaction, the away team asked the Ullians to shop their work.

Science Engineering Starfleet wants to compare measurements from new, amnesia-inducing anomalies to other temporal disturbances, but most are very short-lived. Locate one of the new anomalies before it vanishes for good. Digging through recent survey reports, the away team found one star system with an unusually high number of temporal anomalies. When the next one appeared, the away team was there to study it. The away team attempted to develop an algorithm to predict where new anomalies might appear, but all of its suggestions led them to empty, anomaly-free space.

When an allasomorph appeared on a planet of humanoids with no memories, she became convinced she was a monster. Prove to the frightened shapeshifter that she simply belongs to a different species. By the end of the away team's presentation on her species, the allasomorph was overjoyed. She still has no memory of her past, but she is thrilled that there are others like her. Starfleet will take her to her homeworld. The away team approached the allasomorph with scientific equipment for a presentation, but she thought they were researchers coming to take the "monster" apart. She fled into the wilderness, and her shifting form made her impossible to find.

Transported from Indiana to Betazed without her memory, aerospace engineer Shannon O'Donnel was spotted hitching a ride towards the Beta Quadrant. Bring O'Donnel back to Earth before she is lost in this new time. The away team's explanation of who O'Donnel was and where she came from comforted her. She insisted on seeing the sights of the Alpha Quadrant, but agreed to stay close to Earth where Starfleet Medical can check in on her. The only trace the away team found of O'Donnel was a tape recorder left on the freighter had she {sic} boarded. The recordings did not mention a destination, though they made it clear that she had regained none of her memories.

Crewman Daniels arrived in the present without his memories, but if his memories of the future return, sharing them would violate the Temporal Prime Directive. Convince him to agree to Starfleet observation. Though Daniels found it hard to believe he was from the future, the away team convinced him of the risks of temporal contamination. He will stay under Starfleet observation in case his dangerous memories return. Daniels may not have his memories, but years of temporal war have left him with keen instincts. He evaded all of the away team's attempts to find him, and there is no telling when or if his memories may return.

Medicine The Prytt have technology that can access a person's memories, but they've refused to share it with other species. Starfleet wants to reconstruct a Prytt psi-wave device in the hopes of unlocking lost memories. The away team constructed a close replica of a psi wave device from Starfleet's limited records if their functionality. Early scans suggest that those brought through recent temporal anomalies still have long-term memories but cannot access them. The away team developed a device that was capable of taking detailed readings of a patient's brainwaves, but not detailed enough to extract individual memories from general neural activity.

Medicine The Vulcan Medical Institute recommended guided meditation to calm amnesiac patients. It has been effective on humans and Vulcans, but more physiologically distinct species will require new techniques. The away team developed species-specific programs to induce the same mental state brought about in Vulcan meditation. Klingon patients have reported much success with their vigorous new program. Recreating a delicate mental state across species with highly different brain structures proved impossible. The away team's non-human and non-Vulcan patients will have to find other ways to relieve their anxieties.
