Security Science Starfleet has begun its own push to bring in the best of the best across the galaxy, but with this push comes a new wave of interpersonal conflicts. Vulcans objecting to Romulan recruits. Terrans angry to see Xindi recruits. Janeway asks your help. After observing some conflicting crew members, you devise a series of assignments that, while they have a rocky start, ultimately seem to break down the barriers between crew members at odds. Your attempts to bring disparate parties together unites them on only one thing — their annoyance with you.

Your away team manages to hack into a secure comms channel used by the Undersecretary and finds he has been speaking with entities across factions, including the Ferengi, the Maquis, and the Orions. You share your findings with Kirk. Your away team is unable to gather any useful intel.

Members of a crew with a recently shuffled crew begin to fall critically ill. Doctor McCoy asks you to investigate the cause and treat the crew members before it's too late. Studying the ill, your team members find traces of a poison more common in the mirror universe. An examination of the crew outs the saboteur. Luckily, your team members are able to synthesize an antidote in time. Your away team is unable to find the cause or a treatment.

Your first officer makes you aware that someone has accessed your ship's data remotely - specifically your personnel data and duty rosters. You are asked how you wish to proceed. Your crew investigates the hack and traces it to a nearby Orion outpost. Confronting the Syndicate members, they insist they were granted access by a higher—up in Starfleet. You interrogate the crew, but find no probable hackers.

Stamets has expressed some concern that recruiting crew members from future time periods may in fact disrupt the timeline, as they have knowledge others wouldn't. He asks you to investigate. Your away team is unable to reach any useful conclusions.

You insist on escorting them personally and suddenly, the reassignment is cancelled and no further reassignments occur. Your requests for answers from Starfleet Command are met with confusion.

The Borg have apparently been on a recruitment campaign of their own, capturing Starfleet crews as they appear via temporal anomaly and assimilating them. Rescue the assimilated and stop the Borg's mass recruitment. Scanning Borg cubes, your crew finds one with disproportionate amounts of human drones. You track the cube to an anomaly and before they latch on to the arriving ship, you disrupt their tractor beam. Calling in back-up, you free the assimilated. While attempting to recover a group of assimilated Starfleet crew members, you are overpowered by Borg drones.
