Diplomacy
Diplomacy Engineering M'ret suggests that reunification attempts with the Vulcans may go better if they are treated diplomatically. He suggests using holographic emitters from a cloaked ship. The Tal Shiar are naturally opposed. Evaluate the feasibility of such a tactic. Your team joins M'ret aboard a cloaked warbird, from which a hologram of him is projected onto a Vulcan ship. While the Vulcans ultimately are unreceptive and begin trying to find and fire on the warbird, it may have given them a moment of pause. The Tal Shiar are vehemently opposed. Your away team and M'ret are unable to persuade them to permit the use of one of their vessels. It seems that, in spite of talks of reunification, they still want things done their way.

Diplomacy Rekar is tasked with leading a crew of Tal Shiar operatives to board and disable a Vulcan ship. However, when talk arises that they are ready to kill the crew, members of your own crew raise concerns. Persuade Rekar to consider other alternatives. Rekar reiterates to your away team that if the Vulcan hostilities persist, the casualties will increase exponentially–on both sides. He relents however, and tells you that he will try to take the crew alive. Rekar scoffs at your away team and wonders aloud why the Federation sent someone so faint of heart for this mission. He then prepares to beam aboard the Vulcan vessel...

The Tal Shiar intend to hide aboard drones disguised as Vulcan vessels in order to gain access to the real hostile Vulcan ships. However, the multispectral emitters on several of the drones are damaged. Assist with repairs. You and your crew manage to repair most of the damaged vessels, granting you some insight into how they function and putting the Tal Shiar one step closer to quelling the Vulcan assault. The technology is too foreign to you and most of your crew. You are unable to assist in repairing the vessels. For now, the mission is stalled.

Diplomacy The Tal Shiar suggest that, while they could obviously handle the matter themselves, they'll make use of you and your Federation Starship in order to approach and infiltrate the Vulcan vessels. Find a diplomatic solution. Your away team agrees to aid the Tal Shiar in approaching the Vulcan vessels from your own ship–with the requirement that they will be accompanied by members of your crew in equal number. Your away team cannot seem to strike a balance that satisfies the Tal Shiar and your own conscience. In the end, this may be an initiative best led from Romulan vessels.

The Romulans prepared a drone ship as a distraction for the Vulcan forces. They mention the need for a telepath and begin to talk of "acquiring" one. To prevent a kidnapping, your away team offers to see if they can persuade an Aenar to assist. The Aenar are reluctant to aid the Romulans after the past kidnapping incident. You and your team manage to convince them, however, demonstrating that a prolonged conflict with the Vulcans could be harmful to all who desire peace. The Aenar refuse to help in the matter. Not only is there still bad blood between the two races, but one of the Aenar shares he read a Romulan crew member's thoughts–and saw that they intended to kidnap again if necessary.

N'Vek is trying to figure out a way to disable the particle beam weaponry on most Vulcan ships from a distance. The Tal Shiar, suspicious of his motives, continue to impede his research. Get N'Vek the information and resources he needs. Your crew manages to help N'Vek find some alternative methods to disable the particle weaponry from a distance. The Tal Shiar show up soon after a prototype is complete and happily claim it for themselves. You and your crew are unable to get N'Vek the information and resources he needs. The Tal Shiar continue to impede hs {sic} progress as well, saying they have little faith in his motives.

Diplomacy Sela is impatient. The autopiloted ships sent to distract the Vulcans don't come cheap. Though she asserts that Romulan technology is more advanced than Vulcan, many of the ships have been damaged or destroyed. Help her find a way to cut costs. Your away team helps the Romulan military improve on the self-repair functions of the autopiloted ships, as well as salvaging what you can of the damaged ones. Hopefully this will lessen the financial impact. Your away team is unable to find a way to keep this strategy financially feasible. You try to convince Sela to send less ships at a time, to which she retorts that you have no concept of how real battles are won.

Security Diplomacy The Tal Shiar are having a difficult time obtaining schematics on certain classes of Vulcan starships, including the Suurok class. Aide them in getting data on these ships. Though much of the information on Suurok-class starships is still classified, your away team manages to get enough from Vulcan databases in order to assist with the Tal'Shiar's efforts. You and your away team are unable to gain much data on Suurok-class ships. What's more, several Vulcan officials within the Federation are uncomfortable with your collective efforts to gain information on their starships.

Security Distrustful of the the Tal Shiar, Toreth wishes to set out on her own to engage several of the Vulcan ships. But she acknowledges she could use all the firepower she can get, and so reluctantly enlists your aid. With your team's help, Toreth is able to damage several Vulcan ships. Your team ultimately have to seize control of the ship for her in order to evade destruction by the fleet of Vulcans launching their assault though. Toreth's headstrong approach proves more detrimental than anything. It takes you and all your crew to keep her from destroying her own vessel in order to take out at least one Vulcan ship.

Engineering The Vulcans have deployed a tachyon detection grid in order to prevent any surprise attacks from the Romulans. Help the Romulans devise a method to maintain the element of surprise. Your team aid the Romulans in developing a method to deflect the beams away from your ship while avoiding detection, however, the possibility exists that they might use this tactic in the future. Perhaps it is best to prepare for that possibility. You and your team are unable to come up with a way to aid cloaked Romulan vessels in crossing the the Tachyon detection grid. Diplomacy Certain members of the Federation say that, if the Romulans are interested in reunification, then perhaps they are willing to discuss the future of the Neutral Zone. Open a dialogue with the Romulans about their hostility toward interstellar guests. While the results of the talk yield zero progress, they at the very least do not exacerbate things. The Romulans assure your away team that they are fine with how they manage their territory. Any undesired guests will be dealt with accordingly. Not only does broaching the topic yield no success, the Romulans are angry that your crew would dare to even bring it up at a time like this.

Engineering Some of the Romulan warbirds are struggling to remain concealed from the Vulcans while cloaked as they attempt to transport members of the Tal Shiar aboard the Vulcan vessels. Take an away team to help repair the ships' cloaking capabilities. You and your crew learn that the problem is misaligned nullifier cores aboard each of the impacted ships. While you gently suggest it was the mistake of an inexperienced engineer, the Tal Shiar are not convinced... Your team is unable to determine the cause of the issue. You and your crew study the cloaking device, but the structure of the warbird is so unfamiliar, you cannot determine the source of the problem.
