Science Picard refuses to allow the Borg to even step foot onto the Discovery if he can stop it. He orders your crew to improve ship defenses on each deck to fend off an attack. Your crew construct phase adaptive shielding and place it at choke points around the ship. Any attacking Borg will be funneled into easily manageable prisons. Your crew lack the resersionources they need to build something that could withstand a sustained Borg assault. They go back to the drawing board, but the enemy could arrive at any moment.

The Federation cannot permit Mirror LaForge to acquire spore drive technology, but perhaps they can give him something else instead. Enter negotiations with the Terran Empire to exchange something other that mycelial tech. Your crew successfully brings Mirror LaForge to the negotiating table with the enticing promise of improved hologram technology. The Federation's best diplomats hope to talk him down from pursuing the spore drive. Your crew neglects to offer proper respect to the values of power that the Terran Empire hold. After underestimating the Terran negotiator, they barely manage to escape with their lives.

Discovery's unique energy signature is a dead giveaway for anyone searching for it. Assist Commander Data in masking its signature so that the ship becomes invisible. Your crew crafts a convincing energy signature that mimics the appearance of a dangerous nebula. Several ships are observed changing course to avoid the area around Discovery. The masking signature fails a short while after being turned on. The sudden appearance of an energy spike draws ships towards Discovery's location.

Zora waited alone peacefully for one thousand years and has grown afraid of the imminent attacks. Calm her down by showing her the best movies that she's missed during her time away from the Federation. Your crew shows Zora the best holo-stories of the twenty-fourth century, successfully distracting her from the danger. She's grateful for their kindness, though admits that she's going to stick with her favorite movie. Nothing that your crew shows Zora from the twenty-fourth century seems to match her taste. She becomes increasingly anxious which triggers several ship systems to go haywire.

Zora has been given direct orders to stay put in her current location, but if she does so the spore drive is in danger. Convince her that protecting the drive takes priority over her original orders. After several hours of negotiation, your crew convinces Zora of the logic in moving locations to maintain security. She insists that she'll return to the ordered location once the danger is passed. Your crew's arguments are unpersuasive to Zora and she insists on staying where she is, as ordered. Doing so puts the spore drive in more danger, taxing the protective resources of the Federation.

The Federation's ban on mycelial technology caused all fungal samples to be destroyed. However, those samples can also be used to track illegal use of spore drives. Find new samples for the purposes of hunting scofflaws. Your crew tracks down some remaining samples of the original Prototaxites stellaviatori mushrooms used on Discovery, which they use to calibrate sensors for any potential future spore drive use. Your crew discovers that previous major growth fields for the Prototaxites stellaviatori have all been destroyed post-ban. Without Stamets' expertise, they're unable to find a fresh supply. Any future spore drive use will go unnoticed.

Doctor Noonian Soong is deeply interested in Zora's abilities as an AI and wants to preserve her in case of catastrophe. Assist in performing a perfect replication of her. Although Zora proved too complex for Doctor Soong to copy her entirely, his research during the process produced revelations that he'll be studying for years to come. In addition, the two have managed to become close friends. During Zora's copying process, several errors appeared in the original version that threatened the integrity of her personality. Although she's interested in the possibilities, she requests an end to the research.

Conditions within the mycelial network have grown too dangerous for your crew, so they quickly pull Tilly out before she's managed to leave her message

The violent history between Vice Admiral Janeway and the Borg is beginning to fracture the fragile truce between them. Negotiate a peace between the two foes so that the spore drive can be utilized. Your crew reminds Janeway of her goal to rescue Voyager, and the Borg's immense help achieving it. She agrees to turn a blind eye to the assimilations they frequently perform. After days of negotiation, your crew doesn't seem to have reconciled Janeway and the Collective. The tension slows down progress on the true objective of acquiring the spore drive.

Finding the Discovery became a challenge once its crew decided to put it in hiding. Use the Borg's transwarp network to scour the quadrant for the ship's location. With the help of Borg efficiency and the speed of the transwarp network, your crew manages to quickly reveal Discovery's location. They place a tracker on the ship in case it manages to escape once more. Extensive sensor sweeps throughout the quadrant fail to pinpoint Discovery's location. Your crew determines Zora must have found a method of scrambling sensor readings.

Coordination between your crew and the Borg falls apart, leaving gaps in the blockade. Several ships cross through and threaten Janeway until she withdraws.

The Borg Collective dispatches several drones to board Discovery and integrate into Zora's systems. They require your crew to defend the drones while they lower her defenses. Your crew fends off several Terran attackers while the drones penetrate Discovery's computer network. They escape with critical data bout the spore drive's design. Zora manages to establish firewalls around the spore drive schematic data faster than the drones can break them. When a crew member is injured by a Terran blaster, they withdraw empty-handed.

The Federation holds detailed maps of the Borg transwarp conduit exits, which threatens the Collective's ability to travel around the quadrant. As one voice, they request that you delete all records of the map. Your crew develops a small virus that hunts the conduit location data and deletes it across all Federation databases. Pleased, the Collective insists on adding the crew's distinctiveness to their own as reward, but they decline. Your crew's attempts at defeating Federation network security are quickly noticed, and they abort the mission before they can be identified.

Blending mycelial and the transwarp networks could make the Borg unstoppable. Study the maps for each system to determine where places of overlap could create shortcuts. Your science team's extensive analysis of the maps show significant parallels that crisscross the galaxy. The Borg begin processing best methods for combining the two networks. Remnants of Discovery's computer defenses corrupt the mycelial network maps before any useful conclusion can be found. The Borg will have to find other methods of spore navigation.

Vice Admiral Janeway needs someone to pilot the spore drive once she acquires it, and believes a Borg drone might do the trick. Fit a drone with the interface needed to connect to the drive. Your medical crew manages to integrate the needed DNA augmentations with the Borg nanotechnology, creating the perfect hybrid to eventually pilot the drive. The drone did not seem to mind the experiment. After the initial injection, the Borg nanites appeared to reject the augmented DNA, disabling the test drone. They decide that the assimilation process rids drones of any possible connection to the spore network.

Using several fungus samples and pheromones collected from the original specimen, your crew manages to capture a new tardigrade. Without hesitation, the Borg assimilate it to learn what they can. Despite their size, the rarity of the tardigrade makes it impossible to track down. Your crew's failure means the Borg change their attention for something else to assimilate.

Mirror LaForge believes that presenting evidence of another spore drive will encourage the full Terran Empire to back him. He demands you collect residual spore energy to prove it still exists. Your crew manages to evade capture while collecting plenty of spore energy samples for Terran scientists. Instead of offering gratitude, Mirror LaForge brags about how impressed the Emperor will be with him. Your crew manages to collect spore energy samples, but testing reveals them to be too old for proving the spore drive still currently exists. Mirror LaForge declares that he'll look for more by himself.

Development takes too long and initial tests are inconclusive. When your crew returns to the mycelial network, Stamets is no where to be found. He may be lost once again.
