Diplomacy Ferengi businessman Nava sells arcybite ore to anyone who can meet his prices, but the Maquis don't want this resource furthering Section 31's research. Convince Nava to screen his potential clients more thoroughly. Nava resists the idea of turning away customers, until the away team promises that Maquis smugglers will keep his business well-stocked. He agrees to turn away anyone trying to purchase large amounds of arcybite ore. Nava balks at the idea of turning away customers, insisting that what they do with the ore he sells is their own business. When the Maquis try to investigate some of his customers, Nava hires Breen bodyguards to chase them off.

Science Given the Borg's interest in Section 31's research, analyzing Borg ship trajectories could reveal where they are searching for transphasic torpedos. The Maquis need to find any prototypes before the Collective does. Though many of the Borg ships seem to be moving at random, the away team discovers a pattern to some of their movements. The Maquis use this intel to find two hidden Section 31 research facilities and confiscate their work. The away team can't discern any meaningful patterns in the Borg fleet's trajectories to suggest where Section 31's research could be hiding. The Maquis must continue their arduous sector-by-sector search.

Science If the Maquis can find a way to detonate the transphasic torpedos they've recovered while the torpedos are phased into a different dimension, they would have an incredibly efficient way to remove them. The away teams sets up a subspace echogram to track the torpedos as they shift between dimensions. Once the torpedos are safely in interphase, they send a sonic pulse through the echogram to detonate each torpedo. The transphasic torpedoes are shifting between dimensions too rapidly for the away team to track them. The Maquis will have to find a very distant, deserted part of normal space in which to safely detonate them.

Diplomacy The Maquis need a team of engineers to reconstruct multi-adaptive shielding from the wreckage of the USS Raven. They hope this will help them sneak past Borg ships to a Section 31 research facility. At first, the Raven's deflector array shorts out every few seconds, but the away team stabilizes it long enough to adapt its shielding for Maquis vessels. This should hide them from any passing Borg. The Raven's long-deactivated systems refuse to power back up, no matter how the away team tries to breathe life into them. If the Maquis want to get past any Borg ships, they'll have to find another way to hide.

Eddington has locked himself in with a Section 31 prisoner, vowing revenge, unless you can separate them. The away team vents neurazine gas into the prisoner's cell, knocking Eddington out cold and saving the Section 31 prisoner from his revenge. The away team will still be able to extract information from their hostage. By the time the away team breaks into the cell, Eddington's blows have left the Section 31 prisoner unconscious. If he does not recover, the Maquis will never be able to learn what he knows.

Security Forra Gegen and some of his fellow Voth are hosting a seminar on phase variance cloaking devices. The Maquis suspect Section 31 will be in attendance, giving you an opportunity to capture their operatives. The away team spots two scientists listening to the Voth seminar with unusual intensity. They apprehend the pair at the end of the seminar, who turn out to be part of Section 31's transphasic research team. The away team sees nothing unusual at the Voth seminar besides a physicist sneaking out canapes in a napkin. If any of Section 31's researchers were in attendance, they've learned a great deal about interphase and taken that knowledge back with them.

Engineering A Maquis raider carrying stolen transphasic torpedos has become trapped in the Mar Oscura Nebula. Send an away team to retrieve the lost ship before the Borg finds it and the weapons it's carrying. The away team safely navigates the nebula's spatial deformations and leads the missing Maquis raider back out. Its cargo of stolen Section 31 torpedos can be disposed of at the nearest Maquis hideout. The spatial deformations in the Mar Oscura Nebula prove too much for the away team to handle, nearly destabilizing the shuttle's impulse drive. The Maquis raider and its dangerous cargo remain lost inside.

Science The Maquis have located one of Section 31's research facilities. Malcolm Reed believes his past experience with Section 31 will help him infiltrate it, but he'll need a new face to avoid being recognized. The away team modifies Reed's face and his voice just to be safe. The man who walks into the Section 31 research facility is completely unrecognizable, and returns with valuable intel on their torpedo development. The away team makes Reed look like another man, but when an agent inside the Section 31 base questions him, his voice sets off a security alarm. Reed is in custody, and the Maquis have no further intel on the transphasic torpedos [sic].

Medicine When the Maquis raided a suspected Section 31 base, one of their fighters was shot with an experimental transphasic rifle. If the phase-shifting projectile can't be removed, the patient won't survive long. The away team generates a small forcefield around the projectile to match its phase-shifting pattern, then uses the forcefield to pull it from the Maquis fighter's wound. His recovery will be slow, but he'll make it. Every time the away team gets a grip on the projectile in the Maquis fighter's wound, it shift phases and eludes them. The fighter passes away within the hour, and the Maquis are worried about facing more of the same weapons...

Admiral William Ross openly supports Section 31's research, which he has described in surprising detail. The Maquis believe Ross may be in direct contact with Section 31, and they want a team to learn the truth. The away team detects someone beaming into Admiral Ross's quarters late at night. After the conversation between guest and host mentions torpedos, they follow Ross's mysterious guest back to a small Section 31 research base. Ross catches the away team following him and threatens to press formal charges if they bother him further. Unwilling to push their luck, the away team leaves without any proof that Ross has met with Section 31.

Medicine Section 31's research facility has been locked down since one of their prototype torpedos began leaking ion radiation. Find a way to treat the researchers and stop the radiation so they can continue their work. The away team's quick intervention saved Section 31's researchers from a deadly case of radiation poisoning. Thanks to their treatment, and their removal of the radiation-leaking torpedo, the staff should be able to resume work soon. The away team managed to stop the ion radiation leaking from the torpedo, but the researchers are already suffering from extreme radiation poisoning. It will be weeks before they can return to their duties.

Engineering Section 31's greatest fear is that the Borg will find and assimilate their research before it is complete. Mimic the trace amounts of radiation their torpedos produce and draw the Borg's attention elsewhere. The away team's analysis reveals a subtle fluctuation to the torpedos' radiation levels. They develop a compound to imitate this and scatter it throughout the quadrant to keep the Borg away from Section 31. The away team constructs a compound that they believe perfectly mimics the transphasic torpedos' radiation, but when they transport it to a distant sector, no Borg ships appear to investigate. There must be something wrong with their "bait."

In case the torpedos' development stalls, Section 31 is looking for alternative weapons to fight the Borg. Send a team to the deactivated husk of the planet killer and see if it can be revived to target Borg vessels. The away team tows the wreckage of several Borg vessels into the planet killer's maw, and after a few repairs, it roars to life. If Section 31 can figure out how to aim it, they will have a deadly last resort against the Borg. The away team repairs much of the planet killer, but they can't find sufficient alternative power for a device that consumes whole planets for fuel. Section 31 won't be able to use this weapon against the Borg.

Medicine Section 31 has captured what is left of Magnus Hansen, long-since assimilated as a drone. They've asked for your help restoring him to humanity, hoping to use his scientific insights to improve their torpedos. Teaching Magnus Hansen to be an individual after 18 years as a drone is no easy task, but the away team's guidance helps him cope. As soon as he is well enough, he begins sharing his knowledge of Borg defenses with Section 31. As the away team removes Magnus Hansen's implants, he begins to utter words and phrases from his former life. Unfortunately, by the time the last nanoprobes leave his system, his mind seems unable to cope with life outside the Collective.

Chroniton and transphasic torpedos operate using many similar principles. If you can locate the Krenim Imperium's time ship, its crew may be willing to discuss the inner workings of their chroniton torpedos. The away team follows chroniton fluctuations through a temporal anomaly and makes contact with the Krenim time ship, When they hear of the Borg invasion, they agree to share some of their knowledge of experimental torpedo development. The away team searches sector after sector, temporal anomaly after temporal anomaly, but they find no indication of where--or when--the Krenim time ship is. Whatever knowledge of torpedo development its crew might have remains a mystery.

The AI of a Druodan series 5 torpedo could have many insights to offer if you can reprogram it with appropriate orders. The away team programs the series 5 torpedo to believe that it has been officially ordered to help them. After processing this information, it begins rattling off the data it has on design and manufacture of torpedos like itself. The series 5 torpedo interprets the away team's attempts to reprogram it as an attack. The away team just manages to transport it away from their ship before it self-destructs in retaliation.

Medicine Section 31 wants a contingency measure for agents to wipe their memories in case they are captured by the Borg. No information about the transphasic torpedos can fall into the Collective's hands. The away team modifies the memory virus that once infected Tuvok to be dormant in agents' brains until they say a key phrase. When activated, it erases all memories from the past 6 months, long enough to conceal intel on the transphasic torpedos. The away team's methods of memory removal aren't fast enough to use in an emergency. Section 31 issues poison pills to their researchers instead, but they fear the Borg could retrive engrams of their research even after death.

Engineering Section 31 is ready to test one of their new photon torpedos, but they want to test it against the real thing. A Borg scout ship has reportedly crashed on N'Vak, and they've asked you to salvage its shields. The away team uses sensor scans to avoid any sections of the wrecked Borg scout ship that contain living drones. They return with the components needed to simulate a Borg cube's defenses against Section 31's torpedo prototypes. While searching through the wreckage of the Borg scout ship, the away team stumble upon an adjunct of surviving drones. They were able to escape, but not without any Borg technology to offer Section 31's researchers.

The mines of Janus VI produce many ores that Section 31 needs for their torpedo development. They can't simply walk into a Federation-controlled colony, but a discreet team might be able to collect these resources. After studying the composition of Janus VI's crust, the away team beams straight down into a mine shaft. They collect ore for Section 31's torpedos and beam back out before any of the miners realize they were there. The away team beams deep into the mines--too deep, landing amid a clutch of Horta eggs. Unable to communicate with the eggs' protective mother, they're forced to retreat to Janus VI's surface.

One of Section 31's research facilities is in the path of an approaching Borg sphere. Gather as many scientists and as much of their research as you can and evacuate the base before the Borg strike. The Borg sphere was approaching the research facility at an alarming speed, but the away team managed to generate an artificial wormhole long enough for Section 31's scientists, research in hand, to escape through it. As the Borg sphere looms closer and closer, the away team's evacuation plans give way to panic. Most of Section 31's scientists escape, but much of their transphasic torpedo research is left behind, and they are not convinced they can replicate it.
