A Romulan prisoner escapes and they believe he has fled to the surface of the planet. The Romulan Senate sends your away team to investigate.
|
Though the people on the planet's surface are hesitant at first, you earn their trust and they confide in you that they did harbor the fugitive, but just long enough to get him a shuttle to escape with.
|
The Numans are not willing to speak with your away team regarding the fugitive.

Alternate Histories

Several Romulan historians are interested in the alternate timeline this world seems to have come from. However, they are hesitant to go on their own and enlist you to go speak to the world's inhabitants.
|
Your away team establishes a good rapport with the planet's inhabitants, the Numans, and is able to construct a rough timeline of an alternate future where the Romulan supernova never happened.
|
Your away team attempts to speak with the planet's inhabitants but, unaware of the new world and its cultural traditions, quickly offends those who live there. They insist your crew leave.

The appearance of the planet constitutes a great deal of upheaval over which faction should gain control of it, with the Romulans of course claiming the planet is theirs. Mediate the dispute.

Your away team convenes a group of diplomats from the Federation and Romulan Star Empire, managing to facilitate a civil discussion between them even if an agreement has yet to be reached.

Your away team attempts to gather diplomats from both the Federation and Romulan Star Empire, but the Romulans greet your away team with nothing but hostility.

Eyes on the Future

With the reality of the supernova looming in the near future, the arrival of a planet supposedly from the future raises many questions. One Romulan scientist wants to investigate and asks for your help.
|
Your away team joins the scientist 0n the planet, Numa's, surface. After gaining permission from the Numans, the soil samples they take and study reveal surprising hints about the alternate, supernova-free future they came from.
|
Your away team attempts to analyze soil and other effects brought back from the planet's surface, but is unable to find anything of note.

The species living on the planet are from the distant future, but insist the coordinates where they appeared match their placement in the future. However they look very different from Romulans. The Empire asks you to investigate.

Your away team manages to convince the inhabitants, the Numans, to offer DNA to compare to that of Romulans, finding that they are indeed distant descendents of Romulans as well as several other species.
|
Despite your away team’s many requests, the new planet's inhabitants refuse to offer up a sample for further study, fearing it may be used against them.

Some Romulans suspect the planet's arrival is not as coincidental as many believe. Zhaban sends your away team to find out.

Your away team interviews many higher-ups from the world, Numa. They insist they werejust as shocked and their testimonies seem trustworthy.

Your away team asks the planet's higher-ups about it, but their questions are perceived as insulting and they are asked to leave.

Supernova Deferred

The planet's existence suggests the supernova never happened in their timeline and the Romulans went to know why. They send you to investigate.

Between interviews of the planet's inhabitants and studies of geological material from their planet, it seems that the very formation of their solar system was completely different.

Your away team interviews inhabitants and takes geological samples, but after failing to safely transport a radioactive rock, they are forced to abandon the mission.

Concerned about the future the new world could have come from and what it might incite in the present, the Empire intends to keep the new world's inhabitants at a distance. They send you to the planet's surface to learn more about their intentions.

Your away team beams down to the planet's surface and finds the planet's inhabitantsjust as anxious about the Romulans. However, the Numans, the world's inhabitants, seem to only want to live in peace.
