# Talk:Faction Missions

I am trying to think of a useful metric for faction missions. Here is one thought, provide a chart that includes the average number of guys required for missions for each faction. Also tabulate the likely hood of needing each job type using the following formula. Fore each occurance of crew slot having one job choice that job gets +1, for each crew slot have has an or choice each job gets +.5, and for each slot with an And choice give each job +1 or +.75? Then divide the job total by the average crew number to get a likely hood of needing any job... Thoughts? First I need to collect alot more faction mission data. This also is all based on that each mission is equally likely to assigned for a faction, which is my assumption but not a fact.

## Page size

We need to figure out a way to separate this page into smaller chunks. Saving the page takes quite a while due to the overall size. I propose each faction event be given its own page, and if we need to, transclude them into this page, but do not substitute. Thoughts? Silverstorm (talk) 22:51, 23 November 2016 (CST)

You're absolutely right. I moved the current event to The Akritirian Job Faction Missions (left a placeholder for now, in case someone comes to this page looking for it) and will move the other events to their own pages later. I don't think transclusion is necessary. bntracy (talk) 09:57, 24 November 2016 (CST)
Thanks! We should keep the list going here and just link to event-specific pages. The "table of contents" will be useful. Silverstorm (talk) 00:25, 25 November 2016 (CST)

## Collapsing Tables

Id like to suggest that we change all tables on this page to already collapsed. It is a very long page, and takes a very long time to scroll down to the lower headings (if not using TOC). Please leave your thoughts below. Thanks, 09:51, 22 January 2017 (CST)

I'd say, just do it! One is generally interested in a single particular faction at a time, as opposed to having to look at all factions at once, so collapsing the tables would help IMHO. --Crunch (talk) 11:12, 5 February 2017 (CST)

## Shuttle Success Chance

I've been messing around trying to get the formula shown on this page to work with Faction event shuttles and have found that if you simply use 2000 as the Difficulty for a 4000VP shuttle then the forumula of $\frac{1}{1+e^\left(3.5*(0.5-\frac{AvgSkill}{Difficulty})\right)}$ works perfectly. I tested with shuttles of 3, 4, and 5 seats and it's perfectly accurate. I think this section needs revisited and rewritten by someone more competent with the math than I am. --Darxide (talk) 18:47, 2 April 2020 (CDT)
